In 1979 - after years of consecutively trying to get admitted into the Academy and narrowly falling short of the exam score required for entry, Eva filed a complaint with the ministry of culture of Georgia, in which she claimed it was not a lack of score, but a lack of money or, to be specific, her refusal to pay bribes to her examiners, that had prevented her, year in and year out, from becoming an Academy student. The ministry responded by getting her enrolled in the fourth-year course at the Nikoladze's Arts College, from which she graduated with distinction in 1981.
