One thing that helped me was messing around with lighter apps and games that still involve thinking in terms of logic and rhythm—like Geometry Dash Lite. Even though it's a simple platformer, understanding timing and cause/effect in the game made me realize how similar that is to how some programs work, especially those that deal with animation or scripting.
