You know, every time I speak with short track speed skaters, supporters, and fans about the internet, Ohno Zone usually comes up. Everyone who mentions Ohno Zone do so with such respect & admiration for the site and they attribute a great deal of importance to the website.
If you're visiting my site for the first time, welcome to Speed Skate World- in the house, wooooo!!

hs1206 - 2007-2008 제5차 쇼트트랙 월드컵대회 2일- lots of pictures in this link, and the pictures are very good. I wonder if these characters come up as jibberish or if they come up as the real thing.

Stories From The Past Few Days: As much as the Speed Skate World lens was focused on the ISU Samsung Short Track Speed Skating World Cup, the great world of speed skating kept turning.
Many stories and interesting blog entries were published during the last few days- here are a few for you;
Charlie Whalig passed away as 2007 was coming to a close- Lenny linked up to a nice article in In Memory of Charles Wahlig, please read- you can find the article here; In Memory of Charles WAHLIG- 'Charlie garnered many laurels, first as an athlete and then as a coach in speed and artistic roller skating. Later, he and his wife Connie created their family livelihood from the development, ownership and successful management of roller skating rinks. At the same time, Charlie dedicated substantial amounts of time and talent to the management of programs in his roller sport federation, where he was often the one person who was most uniquely qualified to deal with the challenge. He always found it difficult to say no to any request for help that originated from his sport'.
'Khoo Swee Chiow arrives at finish line after 93 days of skating through Southeast Asia'- photo & caption posted on the Inline Planet
Here's an article that I like- Growing the Sport- take a look at the link; sharing. Jim White writes 'Sharing your love of skating is the key to growing the sport. It brings in new skaters, it helps events flourish, and it's a great way to make new friends'.
Here's a cool post with some history from Bont's Forum; Bont Boot History.... AccXess writes 'Boots at that time were mostly soccer boots or football boots modified and barely suitable for the task, there were some Italian boots imported but price excluded most from that option and an Australian company in melb using traditional shoe making methods which were just woeful in the wet as they fell apart so quickly. Highly unsuitable we persisted with those options for many a long year because of lack of alternatives'.
'Lilly has just started blowing out her winter coat, Jess doubled this pile by the time she was done brushing the dog. Note the fur flying through the air in the photo & the cat messing around in it. So it’s official; Lilly predicts an early spring this year! Cyclists & Inliners rejoice!'- photo & caption from Zen And The Art Of Speed Skating
Ok, I'm pooped- I had fun training today and it was a loooooong day at work. I had a conference call and now I just finished eating my delicious stir fry and fruit smoothie; my site's updated and now I'm hopefully going to talk to my girlfriend for a few minutes when she comes back home from the gym, and them, it's off to bed- dream land. There's lots to do tomorrow; work, training, and lots of more news to share here- G'nite everyone.
