Quality Assurance Engineer

Position summary

  • Geographical location: any

Job Definition

  • You will be responsible for defining, creating, documenting, verifying and assessing quality.
  • You will define, implement, execute and document test plan, test cases and test scripts for multiple projects.
  • Develop and execute functional test in C/C++ and scripting languages
  • Develop and execute load, stress, volume and reliability test plans and scripts
  • Document and communicate test results, including issues found and their resolution; participate in root cause analysis
  • Develop and maintain automated testing methodology, standards, templates, etc.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in scripting, test automation, populating and executing test cases using commercial tools (Mercury, Rational, ...)
  • Minimum 5+ years hands-on Software Quality Assurance and testing experience.
  • 3 years experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Excellent verbal / written communications skills in English.
  • Ability to define, create, document and verify testing methods and results
  • Extensive background in QA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for Databases
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems and operating systems (Win, Linux, UNIX) with in-depth experience testing software on Microsoft and Linux operating systems
  • Strong knowledge in Database concepts and tools
  • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree)
  • Proven experience in C/C++
  • You work efficiently in an Unix environment, including using standard Open Source development tools (gcc, gdb, libtools, etc).
  • Knowledge database technologies (SQL, ODBC), C/C++, Perl, Java, PHP, MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server.
  • You are familiar and support the Open Source model of working and like sharing work both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely (most of us work from home) with limited supervision.
  • You can work independently and know where/how to look up information to solve a given tasks.
