How much is culture influenced by the weather?

What kinds of weather do you like or dislike?

 wind - ветер,  rain - ДОЖДЬ,  SNOW СНЕГ

storm - шторм    it is hot - жара

Ник: I feel unwell in sunshine.

Olga (Master): I feel unwell - чувствую себя плохо (физически)

Olga (Master): I feel bad - чувствую плохо себя (морально)

The climate in Moscow is bad for me, I feel unwell.

Натали. I think in my previous life I was a shipman and lived by the ocean.

Do you feel unwell and even ill if there is a storm, strong wind outside or you don’t care? You’re always happy?

Натали: I like storm and strong wind when I am inside with a glass of wine and there's a fire next to me.

Ник: I am afraid of cold wind. It makes me unwell.

The climate in Vladivostok is subtropical there. Local people get used to it. They don't get sweat but I do if especially I climb up a mountain there.

What do you think how English people feel when raining all the time?

Натали: They feel not very well but they get used to it and drink tea talking to each other.

Ник: The skin of English women is really good due to often drops of rain on it.

Olga (Master): Bad weather is a very good psychological training for mind. English people feel depressed inside but happy "outside".

Would you like to try to live in a wet climate?

I've got one life and it's too short to do such an experiment.

I prefer not very wet climate but windy climate without rain and bright sun

Olga (Master): Are there any regions with a wet climate in Russia?

Kamchatka, St-Petersburg, near big volumes of northern waters, artificial waters

Olga (Master): Can you compare manners and behaviour of people in those regions?

Not very different. When I studied in Uni, I noticed that northern people had richer countries than people form warmer countries.

As for the great history of Egypt, ancient Egyptians were from another planet.

All that was before Islam.

After Islam came, Egypt became very poor in culture.

Olga (Master): I think Islam caused that poverty in Egypt.

I like to have a kind of a fairy-tale in my life and believe that those Egyptians were from another Planet.

In Islam there are a lot of bans in arts and all other directions of life.

Islam doesn't let countries develop fast so those countries are behind developed countries.

Olga (Master): So do you want to say that a religion can influence culture much more than weather?

 I think Islam came into Egypt long later before  development of the culture stopped.

 Olga (Master): church  церковь

Now religion is not as important as it was before.

Religion used to influence culture a lot and more thaN weather.

    Now you can choose to be a Catholic, Protestant or Orthodox

I don't agree that weather may influence the national character.

But people in Petersburg are kinder, more polite and generous than Muscovites.

Николай: 3 (не согласен)

Olga (Master): No, real Muscovites are really polite, but expatriates are not.

The difference in behaviour between Muscovites and Petersburgers is getting less and less

 Olga (Master): How did authors feel when they created their masterpieces?

I think they felt depressed.

I think they made money doing it.

 Great people were not recognized when they were alive but they were always ahead ordinary people

Can I tell you about me?

When I feel depressed I am painting a picture and my bad mood comes out onto the picture and vice versa

 Olga (Master): Africans live in poverty because of the good climate. Do you agree?

I agree. They've got warm weather and a lot of food around and they don't have to do more for their life

I think Africa is the model of our planet. The problem of extra population.

On the earth there must be about 1 or 2 bn. People.

 In Africa there are few resources and they end.
