This position is based in Moscow, Russia. The incumbent will be reporting into Area Technical Manager Poland / Russia / CIS, and functionally reporting into Regional Technical Services Director Europe.
The successful incumbent is required to manage and coordinate the assigned TS Team in Russia for local and associate office businesses and develop the TS team in accordance to local and corporate business needs in the key focus segments (protective / marine / offshore). Travelling to various business locations and shipyards will be required.
Specifically, the incumbent shall:
Provide the highest level of technical service to domestic and associate customers by ensuring that the qualification and the number of staff in the TS Team is in line with on-going and forecasted business.
Ensure fulfillment of departmental goals and objectives (including departmental budget responsibilities) by working in parallel with Regional TS and local Country Manager.
Manage TS proactively by focusing on problem prevention, rather than problem solving.
Be a key point of contact on all technical / product matters for local TS office.
Develop TS staff through building technical competences, product knowledge and reporting discipline through training sessions to TS and sales team.
Participate actively in the daily inspections, when required.
Ensure compliance to departmental/corporate guidelines and reporting standards.
Manage the relationship with Hempel’s customers, as well as interdepartmental relationships, in a professional manner.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
The successful incumbent should have the following:
Relevant Degree in Engineering or equivalent Technical Certification.
Possess leadership ability.
Min. 5 years of practical and theoretical experience in the field of coatings.
FROSIO/NACE certified.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).Fluent in local language/dialects.
Computer literate including MS Office applications.
Willingness to travel entire Russia and abroad when necessary to provide training and technical service to the customers.
