Good day, dear readers!

Ну наконец закончилась эта суматошная неделя.Сдан последний экзамен в колледже
и следующий семестр (term) начнется только в следующем году, а именно 7 января.
Немного обидно, что в этот день будет православное Рождество, но для Америки
Рождество наступит 25 декабря и это один из наиболее почитаемых и уважаемых и
любимых американцами праздников. Только что закончился День благодарения, или
День индюшки, как шутят американцы. Вся родственники моей американской семьи
собрались в Сиэтле, в доме моей дочери. И я этот День Благодарения запомню надолго,
потому что было весело, шумно, многолюдно и двуязычно. Но мне надо было вернуться
в Ванкувер и продолжать поиски работы, чем я и планирую заниматься в декабре.
Я обещала написать о резюме и почему это так важно для Америки. Но сначала вернусь
к экзаменам в колледже. Как обычно, мы сдавали 2 экзамена, устный и письменный.
 Ну с устным все понятно, от нас требовалось на этом уровне понимание бытовых
тем, умение поддержать разговор, спросить правильно и грамотно о разных вещах.А
вот на письменном тесте были предложено написать свое резюме, письмо другу о
поисках работы в Америке и два топика о будущих планах и любимом празднике. Хорошо
еще, что темы  были обьявлены заранее и можно было подготовиться дома..Но был
еще текст для чтения, который я не могу написать по памяти для вас, потому что
он не был из разряда легкого чтения и понимания.И надо было  ответить на 10 вопросов
к этому тексту. Могу только сказать, что это задание никому не доставило удовольствие,
настолько нечитаемо-запутанный был текст.Ну надеюсь ,что я с ним справилась успешно.
А вот мои домашние заготовки я предлагаю почитать и вам.

I want to write to you about my search for a job here.

 You know, I have three masters degrees:journalist,mechanical engineer and mathematics
instructor.
Ты знаешь, я имею 3 высших образования, журналист, инженер-механик и учитель
математики.
 But I am looking for a job not based on my education because my English is not
perfect yet and I have little work experiense in America.
Но я ищу работу не по специальности, потому что мой английский пока не совершенен

But I have a dream to be an English teacher here.

 Very often Russian people come to America and they do not speak English.
Очень часто русские люди приезжают в Америке и не говорят по-английски.
 It was my way also.

I did not speak English one year ago.
Я не говорила год назад по-английски.
I have begun studying  English in Clark College.
Я начала изучать английский в Кларк колледже.
But it is very difficult because my English teachers do not speak Russian and
I do not understand their explanations  often.
Но это очень трудно, потому что мои преподаватели английского не говорят по-русски
и я часто не понимаю их обьяснений.
You know I have a great deal of experience working with people and I want to
be a bilinqual teacher.
Ты знаешь, я имею огромный опыт работы с людьми и я хочу стать двуязычным преподавателем.
I know, to be a good teacher means to be a highly educated person and to know
a lot.
Я знаю, быть хорошим учителем,значит быть высокообразованным человеком и знать
много.
Every day I improve my English, reading books, translating sentences from Russian
into English, reading newspapers,watching TV, looking through magazines and speaking,speaking,speaking...
Каждый день я улучшаю мой английский,читаю книги, перевожу предложения с русского
на английский,читаю газеты, смотрю телевизор, просматриваю журналы и говорю,
говорю, говорю...
I am fond of English and i want to be a skilled teacher.
Я увлечена английским и я хочу быть квалифицированным учителем.

These words became my motto the moment I stepped off the plane that carried me
from my native Russia one year ago.
Эти слова стали моим девизом в момент, когда я сошла с самолета, который доставил
меня  из  моей родной России,один год назад.

Living in Russia I had my own business, but it needs lots of money to start a
business here.
Живя в России , я имела мой собственный бизнес,но требуется много денег, чтобы
начать бизнес здесь.
So, I decided I will learn everything myself. I have to build my life here.
Так, я решила, я буду учиться всяким вещам собственноручно.

What do I want to achieve?

My first problem is English.
Первая моя проблема, это английский.
I speak English, but only a little.
Я говорю на английском, но только немного.
 I was embarrassed to utter even the simplest phrases for fear of not being understood.
Я смущалась произнести простейшие фразы,страшась быть непонятой.

I have to take any opportunity that this country has to offer.
Я должна взять  любые возможности,которые предлагает эта страна.
Get language worked on first, then a car ( I have to learn to drive).
Первое, это работать с языком, потом автомобиль ( я должна научиться водить)
Without a car I will stay in the house 24 hours a day, 7 days in week.
Без машины я буду оставаться дома 24 часа в сутки ,7 дней в неделю.
That is crazy.
Это сумашествие.

Then go and get an education.
Потом получить образование.
I want to be a skilled teacher of English here.
Я хочу быть квалифицированным учителем английского здесь.

Yes it is bloody difficult but it is possible and I can enjoy life here due to
my family.
Да, это кроваво трудно, но это возможно и я могу наслаждаться жизнью здесь благодаря
поддержке моей семьи.

Мой любимый праздник*

Every nation has its own customs and long-lived traditions.
Each family is like  its own traditions. So it is with my family. We celebrate
all holidays in a very special way and it keeps our family together in spirit.
My most favorite holiday is Christmas.We celebrate it on the 25 th of December.But
when I lived in Russia this holiday was on the 7 th of January.

Preparations for Christmas are always pleasant: buying gifts, sending Christmas
cards and decorating the  Chritmas three.

The Christmas day starts in the morning with the smell of cookies, cakes, chocolate
and cinnamon. My cookies and cakes are very special because of their form and
color look like Christmas trees and funny smiling faces.
When the meal is ready the real Christmas comes with the family dinner, gifts,candles.

I enjoy this holiday very much because it is a very unusual holiday when my family
is happy  and when the wonders happen and all dreams may come true.

Christmas comes but once a year.

И осталось добавить, что все сочиненные мною темы взяты из моей собственный жизни.И
даже мой друг Мария не вымышленный персонаж, а моя дорогая кума, которая живет
в России.
И поиск работы в Америке это непростое дело для того, кто только учит английский,
даже если он имеет три российских высших..И самое первое, что надо сделать, это
написать резюме.
Предлагаю вам мое резюме, только как образец. Составлением резюме можно заниматься
бесконечно.В Америке существуют фирмы, где вам быстренько напишут отличное резюме..Но
за это надо заплатить. Гораздо интереснее составить собственное.

написать всю вашу жизнь, образование,профессиональный опыт и увлечения.Задача

Попробуйте и вы написать ваше резюме.Если вы живете в Америке, то вероятно знаете,
как это важно для поиска работы.А если только собираете приехать сюда, то стоит
позаботиться о резюме раньше, чем оно потребуется немедленно.
