Экс-прокурор Крыма борется за чистоту рядов в Госдуме. Возглавляемая мной комиссия сегодня приняла решение о недопустимости использования депутатами своих полномочий в личных интересах, сообщила на своей страничке в сети депутат Госдумы Наталья Поклонская. По результатам заседания меня поддержали члены комиссии в решении о наличии конфликта интересов у депутата Госдумы РФ Палкина А.В.
Поклонская уточнила, что формат комиссии меняется. Сегодня впервые на комиссии присутствовали по моему приглашению представители государственных ведомств и силовых структур, задействованные в сфере противодействия коррупции. Также в ходе работы над материалами столкнулась с необходимостью внесения поправок в Федеральный закон «О статусе члена Совета Федерации и статусе депутата Государственной Думы Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации». Начинаю работать в этом направлении. Напомним, Комиссия Госдумы по контролю за достоверностью сведений о доходах и имуществе депутатов признала наличие конфликта интересов в действиях самого богатого депутата Андрея Палкина. Парламентарий направил 27 запросов в прокуратуру и налоговую инспекцию Архангельской области в интересах предприятий, которые раньше принадлежали ему, а сейчас его сыновьям. Об этом сообщил ТАСС.
Комиссия письменно проинформирует спикера Госдумы Вячеслава Володина о наличии конфликта интересов в действиях Андрея Палкина. Однако большинство ее членов проголосовали против проведения проверки возможного участия народного избранника в управлении коммерческой организацией его сына, что могло стать основанием для лишения его депутатского мандата. Сам Палкин претензии к себе считает не обоснованными. В аппарате Палкина говорят о «мести «москвичей», за помехи в приватизации объектов жизнеобеспечения Архангельской области»…

The 30-year-old Mahmoud al-Masri was killed during Friday clashes with Israeli security forces at a protest against the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by the US president.
Donald Trump recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on Wednesday in a live televised address from Washington, D.C., and started the process of relocating the US embassy from Tel Aviv.
The decision sparked immediate outrage and fury in countries all over the world, with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh calling for a «new intifada» against Israel.
State of Palestine: Palestine 'cannot exist' without East Jerusalem as capital — Palestinian diplomat

Palestinian diplomat Saeb Erekat stated in an interview in Jericho on Saturday that Palestine «cannot exist» without East Jerusalem as the capital.
Speaking about Trump's decision on Jerusalem which sparked clashes across the world, the prominent Palestinian diplomat suggested that the Trump Administration's next step would be «approval of the [illicit] settlements' incorporation into Israel.»
Saeb Erekat said that Palestine was «surprised» by the announcement made on December 6th. «They didn't make us any question, didn't say anything about their blueprint, didn't tell us anything at all», said Mr. Erekat.
Speculating on Palestine's further response to Trump's decision, Saeb Erekat expressed his personal opinion that the country will convoke «the Palestinian Central Council which is the highest parliamentarian body just after the National Council». «The principal of equal rights for Hebrews, Christians and Muslims in the space from the river to the sea» will be a prime issue to consider, as the diplomat put it.
Saeb Erekat suggested that Palestine would not give up if «the USA frustrates our attempts in the Security Council», and that they would keep appealing to the other institutions such as the General Assembly, the International Court and the US Supreme court.

За закон о Верховном суде проголосовали 239 депутатов правящей партии «Право и справедливость». В процессе рассмотрения приняты все поправки правящей партии, зато почти все поправки оппозиционных сил отклонены.
Законом, в частности, предусматривается возможность представления в Верховный суд жалоб на приговоры польских судов за последние 20 лет. В суде будут созданы две новых палаты — чрезвычайного контроля и публичных дел и дисциплинарную. Footage captured on Saturday shows the aftermath of a counter-terror operation carried out by the Federal Security Service (FSS) of Russia in Stavropol.
The FSS received information about a group of terrorists hiding in a house in Stavropol and planning numerous attacks in public places. At 00.30 Moscow time, Saturday, the counter-terror operation started.
According to Stavropol residents living nearby, at night some people wearing masks knocked at their doors and windows and asked them to leave their homes for security reasons.
After affording the extremists the option to surrender, the special forces stormed the residence. Three terrorist gang members were killed.

Italy: Anti-fascists descend on Como to denounce far-right attacks

Over 10,000 anti-fascist demonstrators descended on the northern town of Como on Saturday, after an increase in anti-immigration action by far-right groups in Italy.
Demonstrators were joined by leaders from the governing centre-left Democratic Party (PD), including former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and ex-Spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Laura Boldrini.
Daniele Piervincenzi, Rai journalist and victim of a far-right attack, used a speech first given by former Italian President Sandro Pertini to address the crowd. «Freedom is a human need. It is not a function of political ideas, origin or religion. Social justice completes and strengthens freedom. Love for your country is not a folly, it is not imperialism, colonialism or nationalism. Love for your country should inspire love for other countries,» he said.
The anti-fascist demo was called for after Veneto Fronte Skinheads interrupted an aid meeting in the lakeside town of Como last week. Days later, another group, Forza Nuova, attacked the offices of liberal newspapers La Repubblica and L'Espresso in Rome.
Northern Italy has experienced a growth in anti-immigrant sentiment since the beginning of the refugee crisis.
Italy: Fire tears through passenger train at Milan Central station

A fire broke out on a train in Milan Central railway station on Saturday afternoon, causing widespread panic amongst passengers.
Firefighters were immediately called to the scene to tackle the blaze. No casualties have been reported, but delays are expected on the rail network.
Officials are yet to comment on the cause of the fire, although there is speculation that it was set off by an electrical short circuit.
The train, which is operated by Trenord, was expected to depart for Sondrio in the northern region of Lombardy.
Egypt: Archaeologists discover 3,500 year old tombs in Luxor

Archaeologists announced the discovery of two ancient tombs in the city of Luxor on Saturday. The excavation team believes the burial chambers date back to the 18th dynasty of the ancient Egyptians, around 3,500 years ago.
The tombs contained several artefacts, texts and wall paintings alongside mummified remains.
As for the identity of the mummies, head of the Egyptian excavation mission Dr. Mostafa Waziri was able to provide some clues. «We believe that the mummy could be a top official or powerful figure in court. We think the mummy belongs to a person who lived in the second part of the 18th dynasty, which means they may belong to the era of King Amenhotep II through to the IV,» he said.
The location of the tombs, on the west bank of the river Nile, was identified by German archaeologist Federica Kampp in the 1990s. However, 'Kampp 150' and 'Kampp 160', the names assigned to the tombs, had never been entered before.
The Egyptian government hopes that the discovery will boost the country's ailing tourism sector, which has been in decline since 2011 due to political unrest.
France: Thousands rally for return of ETA prisoners to Basque country

Thousands rallied in Paris on Saturday to demand better conditions and the return of the 62 political prisoners from the Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA) separatist group to the Basque Country to be closer to their families.
The protesters held banners and demanded the French state to bring the 62 detainees closer to home and allow the conditional release of those who are severely ill.
«It's their families that have to travel every weekend, sometimes for 1,000 kilometres, in order to see their relatives» mentioned Sibile, a Basque protester, regarding the difficulties the prisoners families face.
Another protester, Muriel Lucanis, said «there is an extreme situation that needs to be resolved urgently, the situation of the prisoners that are gravely ill, for which the French state and the Spanish state refuse their conditional release».
The political prisoners have been detained for terror-related crimes and are held in prisons in France, thus forcing their families to travel many miles in order to see them.
The ETA was unilaterally disarmed back in April when they handed all their remaining weapons over to France.
UK: 'Slavery never ended' — hundreds march against Libya's slave trade

Hundreds of people gathered at Belgrave Square in Central London on Saturday to protest against the enslaving and selling of black Africans in Libya, following an incriminating CNN report about slave auctions in the country.
The protesters marched from Belgrave Square to the Libyan Embassy, where they held a rally. They held placards and banners reading «Slavery never ended» or «Silence supports the oppressor» and chanting «African lives matter» and «Where is the justice?». They also called on European governments to take measures to stop slavery and oppression in Libya.
«Every country that intervened to overthrow Gaddafi has their hand in this,» said one of the activists. «At the end of the day it wasn't happening when he [Gaddafi] was there. So why is it happening now?» he asked.
Egypt: Abbas will not meet Pence during visit to region — Palestinian FM

Dozens of Italians staged a protest at Camp Darby, the US army's logistical base, situated between Pisa and Livorno, following the rumours of renovating and expanding the base.
«Italy has no possibility to take care of bases like Camp Darby, because they are under US jurisdiction» said an activist.
Another activist said «No to the war, no to NATO, yes to closing the US bases in Italy, and obviously no to any project of enlargement.»
Camp Darby hosts the Darby Military Community, the 731st Munitions Squadron (MUNS), 405th Army Field Support Battalion as well as several Italian military units.

They demanded the demiltarisation of Mapuche land, the repealing of specific anti-terror legislation, the release of political prisoners and those responsible for disappearing and killing protesters Rafael Nahuel and Santiago Maldonado.
«Here in Argentina and Chile, the Mapuche people are being persecuted, in Chile they have many dead and here in Argentina lately too,» explained protester Laura Garcia.
