Hi, my name is Howard, and this is Galina's and my love story from my view. I had been seperated and then divorced from my 1'st wife for a while, and was using an internet dating service to meet women in my area for company, conversation and eventually dating. The dating service was supposed to help me find women of approximately my age close to home. Within 50 miles, or less. I had no idea that the dating service was an international one, and one night found myself, by mistake, in the “Russian Women” area. At 1'st, I thought that the beautiful women were located in a town called Russia, Georgia, USA. Then I realized that there was no such place and I was looking at women from the real Russia. Laugh!! Out of curiosity, I decided to see what real Russian women looked like. I had no intention of dating a Russian woman! On the 3'rd or 4'th picture, there was Galina!! She had such a great look in her eyes! I HAD to send her an email. In her profile, Galina stated that she was looking for someone in Europe, so I didn't really expect a response. Imagine my surprise when she sent an email back to me.


Galina and I started corresponding and I found out that Galina was exactly what I was looking for, an intelligent woman, about my own age, and many other things. Over several months, our emailing grew and grew, until we were emailing everyday and sometimes more. Galina wanted me to come to her city to visit, but I did not really want to come. I had not been looking for a Russian woman, and knew that if our relationship got serious, we would have many problems, such as language, culture, governmental problems, along with the normal problems that every marriage has. I was not going to go, but Galina had emailed me about an American Christian group that she had been helping for 3 years. They would stay in her city for a month each summer, and she would help with housing, tours, etc.. I asked Galina if I could contact the group here in America. I did and talked to their leader Joe. He said that Galina was a GREAT woman, and that they had been Praying for a good husband for her. He said that if I was able, I should try to meet her. That was all the encouragement I needed. I could not go with the Church group, as my visa did not come back in time, but I did go that summer. I stayed in Galina's city for 10 days that 1'st time and got to know her, her friends and family. We fell in love. I guess we had been in love for a long time through our emails. I wanted Galina to come back with me to America on a fiancee visa, but when we went to the Consulate, we found that she could not get one, as the Consul told me that she did not have enough permanent ties to her country. The Consul told me that if I loved Galina, I should marry her, and then they could get her to America. We thought about it for a long time, and decided that we could not marry then. I needed to return to America to talk to my family and especially my 3 children, one who was 12 and would be living with Galina and me. We also wanted things to cool down so we could think and then decide if we wanted to take this huge step together.



We continued to email, now more than ever, and decided, that in spite of all the problems we knew we were getting into, we REALLY were in love! 2 months after I had left, I was back! Galina and I waited 2 weeks then got married the right way, in front of her family and friends, both by registration in a civil service, and then in Church. 2 months after our marriage, we met in Moscow and she got her green card, then she had to go home to perform her immigration requirements, then 3 months later was in America.
Our marriage has been GREAT, in spite of the problems that we knew we were getting into. Of course, there are ups and downs, but we solve our problems together. I'm so glad she is here!!! We're very happy!
