alt = alternately, ch = chain, col = colour, cont = continue, dc = double crochet, dec = decrease, dtr = double treble, foll = following, gst = garter stitch, htr = half treble, inc = increase, K = knit, mt = meterage, P = purl, patt = pattern, patt g (MS) = pattern group, psso = pass slipped st(s) over, rem = remaining, rep = repeat, rev stst = reversed stocking stitch, P 1 row, K 1 row, Rs = right side, slst = slip stitch, st(s) = stitch(es), stst = stocking stitch, K 1 row, P 1 row, tbl = through back of loop, tog = together, tr = treble, Ws = wrong side, Wwm = when work measures, yo = yarn over needle

Poncho
Materials: Lana Grossa "Tris", 36% wool, 10% mohair, 43% acrylic, 11% polyamide, approx. 700(800) g nature/brown/black (col 8), one pair 7 mm needles and one 6 mm crochet hook for threading fringes.

Border pattern:  alt K2, P2.

Basic pattern: stockinette stitch (K on right side, P on wrong side, in rounds K all sts).

Gauge: approx. 11 sts and 16 rows to 10 cm or 4" square (basic pattern with 7 mm needles).

Work poncho in one piece: cast on 264(276) sts with 7 mm needles, join in round and cont in basic pattern in rounds. For dec mark at front and back centre sts 1 and 133(139), on 3rd round work a double slip dec with centre st above (= slip 2 sts tog knitwise, K1, pass slipped st over) on 3rd round with marked sts and st on either side. Rep these dec on every 3rd round another 31 times, then another 9(11) times on every alt round.
When work measures 19 cm or 7 1/2" from beginning divide work for openings each time over 18 sts on either side of centre front and work 16 cm or 6 1/4" separately in rows. Join all sts again and cont in rounds. When work measures 54(55) cm or 21 1/4(21 3/4)" from beginning work for dec at shoulder: mark centre st between front and back centre, here work on every alt round 14(15) times 1 double slip dec with center st above. When work measures 72(75) cm or 28 1/4(29 1/2)" from beginning = 44 sts work another approx. 18 cm or 7 1/8" in border pattern, then bind off all sts.

Finishing: along lower border of poncho and along borders of openings attach fringes of 3 strands each, finished length of fringes = approx. 13 cm = 5 1/8".

Cap: 
Materials: Lana Grossa quality "Tris", 36 % wool, 10 % mohair, 43 % acrylic, 11 % polyamide, approx. 100 g nature/brown/black (col 8), 5 double-pointed needles size 6 mm and one size 5-6 mm crochet hook.

Basic pattern: stockinette stitch = K on right side, P on wrong side, in rounds K all sts.

Cap: for 1st ear flap cast on 3 sts and cont in basic pattern. For border inc on every alt row 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st at each end = 13 sts. When work measures 10 cm or 4" from beginning slip sts onto a length of yarn. Work 2nd ear flap alike. Following just worked ear flap sts pick up for front 20 sts, pick up sts from 1st ear flap and cast on for back 12 sts = 58 sts. Cont in rounds in basic pattern. After 12 cm or 4 3/4" start dec. 1st dec round: dec 6 sts evenly across = 52 sts. Work 2 rounds without dec. 2nd dec round: dec 6 sts evenly across = 46 sts. Work 1 round without dec. 3rd dec round: dec 6 sts evenly across = 40 sts. Work 1 round without dec. 4th dec round: dec 8 sts evenly across = 32 sts. Work 1 round without dec. 5th dec round: dec 8 sts evenly across = 24 sts. 6th dec round: dec 10 sts evenly across = 14 sts. On foll round K2 tog each time = 7 sts. Tighten these sts with the yarn and sew off.

Finishing: along all borders crochet 1 round crab sts (= sc from left to right). To ends of ear flaps join a chain each approx 7 cm or 2 3/4" long and attach a small tassel.
