The march targeted the homes of prominent local officials, including head of Basra Provincial Council Waleed Kitan.

Some demonstrators wore yellows vests, inspired by and in solidarity with the parallel movement in France.

At least four people were killed and 20 injured after a car bomb went off in Afrin's al-Hal market on Sunday, according to reports.
Local media said that an explosives-laden vehicle was detonated in the busy vegetable market.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Afrin is controlled by Turkish-backed militants that seized the area earlier this year in the Turkish-led 'Olive Branch' military operation against the People's Protection Units (YPG) Kurdish militants.

France: Toll booths set on fire at 'Yellow Vest' protests in south

Several toll booths were burned and damaged in the southern Narbonne city on Saturday night during protests organised by the 'Yellow Vest' movement.
Footage shows that several firemen tackling the blaze.
Emergency services said the fire broke out around 9pm local time (19:00 GMT) on Saturday.
'Yellow Vest' protesters targeted the same set of gates on the night of December 1.
Booths also were targeted in several locations around the south, including Perpignan and Nimes.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu claimed many European countries are «closing their eyes» to the murder investigation of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, during a forum held in Doha on Sunday.
Speaking with regard to the investigation Turkey is leading into the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, Cavusoglu said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan «has been so determined» while «many European countries who are promoting the freedom of media, freedom of expression are closing their eyes.»
The Turkish foreign minister used the opportunity to repeat Turkey’s desire for the 84 Turkish nationals leaving in the US suspected of participating in the Fethullah Gulen movement to be extradited to Turkey.
According to Cavusoglu, the Syrian people should be allowed to «draft their own constitution» and to conduct «transparent, democratic and fair elections» under the «auspices of the United Nations.»
He concluded by saying that if Bashar al-Assad was elected through a democratic process Turkey as well as the international community should «consider» working with him.

At least one person died and 44 were left injured on Sunday after a bus travelling from the Italian city of Genoa to German Dusseldorf crashed into a wall on a Swiss motorway south of Zurich.
According to media citing Swiss police, the driver of the bus carrying 51 passengers lost control after the bus skid on a snowy road.
One woman, who has not yet been identified, died in the crash.
Ten of the passengers on board were Russian citizens, with all of them reportedly left injured, one seriously.

The perpetrator of a series of three stabbings of women was discovered and arrested on Saturday, Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrman announced at a press conference in the Nuremberg police headquarters on Sunday.
The victims were stabbed in three separate incidents within the space of a few hours on Thursday night in the St. Johannis district of Nuremberg. All three women required emergency surgery for their injuries.
Chief Criminal Director Thilo Bachmann said a thirty-eight year old German national had been taken into custody on Saturday after a rapid police search for the perpetrator.
«We found the victim's DNA on the seized murder weapon and on the clothing of the offender... so that the proof has been enough to put the perpetrator into custody», Bachmann told journalists.
Public Prosecutor Antje Gabriels-Gorsolke stated that there is a suspicion of attempted murder and the prosecution would be applying for a warrant in the coming days.

The inauguration ceremony of Georgia's first female President Salome Zurabishvili was held in the Georgian city of Telavi, in the Batonis Tsikhe castle, on Sunday.
Around 1,800 people attended the ceremony including high-profile officials such as President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and former President of France Nicolas Sarkozy.
Zurabishvili took an oath, addressed the guests, received a blessing from the current Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and greeted the military as the country's Chief Commander.

Scores of opposition activists gathered in the vicinities of the Georgian city of Telavi to protest against new Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili's inauguration, on Sunday.
Opposition, including convoy from Tbilisi was blocked by the Georgian police from entering the inauguration ceremony in Telavi.
The protesters scuffled with the guards with several people reportedly being injured from both sides.
Leader of the Georgian opposition and a former presidential candidate who came second in the presidential race Grigol Vashadze attended the protest saying that the opposition intends legally but also «by all means» to «depose» Zurabishvili.
Salome Zurabishvili, former Foreign Minister of Georgia, won a November 28 runoff against Vashadze.
Ex-diplomat Salome Zurabishvili secured almost 59.5% of the vote in the second round of Georgia's presidential election while a rival candidate Grigol Vashadze got 40.5%.
The opposition alliance United Nation Movement (UNM) led by Vashadze claims the presidential elections were rigged.

Dozens of activists gathered for an unauthorised rally to protest against what they called «the arbitrariness of domestic security forces» in Moscow on Sunday.
As a result, some protesters were detained.
The protest was held at Lubyanskaya Square in front of the seat of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
Initially the rally's organisers aimed to hold the so-called 'March for Peace' from Pushkinskaya Square to Sakharova Avenue, but the city did not authorise the route, instead offering a different location.
The protest's organisers rejected a proposal to shift the location to hold the rally «on the city's outskirts» calling it «mockery» which would «disrupt» the event.
According to organisers, the rally was also aimed at denouncing the arrest of 'the New Greatness' members who are accused of establishing an extremist organisation and seeking to take over power in Russia by staging a coup.

One of those injured is said to be in a serious condition.

Israel: Army says 4th Hezbollah tunnel found near Lebanon border
