FC Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde commented on his side's 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid, in the La Liga clash in the Spanish capital on Saturday.
«Maybe we have lacked spark at some times, it's possible, but this has to take into consideration how Atletico defend, and even in their stadium, [they are] well back, tucked, all together,» Valverde said.
He also commented on Ousmane Dembele, who equalised late in the game for Barcelona. The French international has been criticised for his off-the-pitch behaviour, including rumours that he stays awake all night playing videogames and eating junk food.
«Dembele has things that nobody else in the squad has — self-confidence, one against one, shooting with both feet, personality, this is a player who I have already said many times, has great talent and we have to help him get it out there,» Valverde said.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone meanwhile claimed his side was just short of a bit of luck as the equlising goal was deflected by defender Lucas Hernandez.
In an intense but low-scoring affair, Diego Costa put Atletico ahead on the 77th minute before substitute Ousmane Dembele equalised on the 90th minute for Barecelona.

New Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari admitted his side have problems after a 3-0 loss to Eibar at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium in the Basque Country on Saturday.
«It doesn't help us at all to blame individuals, we played poorly,» he said. «We did some things well and now we have to focus on them.»
Solari's side gave away three goals in 60 minutes, matching their tally for goals conceded against the Basque outfit in their previous eight games combined.
The former midfielder, who made 131 appearances as a player in the Spanish capital, was promoted after two years as the club's B team manager following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui.
It marks Solari's first senior role in the hotseat and comes following a successful spell as caretaker.

Fans are angry and concerned about the players' security, after several of them were injured in the attack and some suffered the consequences of the police use of tear gas outside the vehicle. Many agree that players are not in the right psychological state of mind to play.
