Idea:
if you name a view with () it will not be available from the normal application - goto option.
 
mostly you use these name constructions for system views; for example for dbcolumn functionality
 
when keeping the shift+Alt keys down these views appear again in the options list.
 
I guess it looks cleaner not to show these views under any launch option, otherwise I would have given them a normal name.

Idea:
If a (web) user knows or guesses the name of a view, he/she can read the complete content of the view as XML using ?readviewentries.
Directly opening a view can be easily prevented using e.g. $$ViewTemplateDefault.
I know you can use url redirection, but those are server-settings, usually not available to a the designer, and they are not specific enough.
