Idea:
IdeaJam gives us serveral views to display ideas based on given criteria. I heard lots of ideas concernig how to sort in a given view or how to select ideas to be displayed. I suggest a generic filter system:
 
A view (this actualy means a list of items, not the technical view we all know) displays serveral ideas, but the selection can be narrowed dynamicly:
  • Age/Time: specify a cut of date or a daterange, posted later or earlier than that date
  • Status: specify one or more status of the ideas to display
  • Votes: specify a value of minimum/maximum votes
  • Votes: percentage of promote/demote-votes higher/lower than a given value
  • Comments: same as votes
  • Ideaspace: yes, this could be a dynamic filter too
  • ...
Some of these values should be multivalue (status, ideaspace, ...).
 
Last, but not least: Allow storing a filterset by user/per app so you do not have to click everything in to the right order each time you open ideajam.
 
I'm not saying this is an easy one, but I think it will help lots of people!

Idea:
By default, I want my notes internal mail messages signed, but I do not have or need a certificate to sign internet messages.
 
When I try to send an internet message, a dialog pops up asking me whether it is okay to send the message anyway, having asked to sign it while lacking a certificate. So far, so good. It is easier to hit that OK button than fiddling with delivery options each time in advance, which I'll forget anyway when in a rush.
 
What annoys me is that the message sent after leaving that dialog is adorned with an X-MIME-Track header shouting my notes-internal name and how S/MIME signing failed due to some certificate not having been found. But nothing failed. I chose not to sign that message after all. I would rather that unsigned unencrypted messages did not get such a header at all. Such details are not for the eyes of outside recipients.
 
Notes should clean outgoing internet messages of all S/MIME traces when user interaction has caused it to drop S/MIME behaviour.

Idea:
Optionally (e.g. if there is a notes.ini parameter) create entries in the miscellaneous events view  in the log.nsf for:
* When user opens a DB
* When a msgbox with an error (e.g. "Object variable not set" or "entry not found in index") is shown
* When user deletes a database
* When the ACL dialog of a given DB is shown
* When an FT Index is created / deleted
* When a password is invalid
* When user switchs the ID
* When user sends an email (to whom and the subject)
* When a given document is: exported/copied/printed
* When an attachment is opened/saved/attached/deleted
and so on...
 
The goal here is to log each activity in detail so in case of need to audit this user's activity
it will be straightforward. Also if there is a problem with the workstation, help desk can easily
identify the problem by seeing what the user did/got in the workstation.

Idea:
Sometimes I want to follow up on a message sent by myself. I can do that with one of the "reply" facilities, but none of these is smart enough to figure out that it is me the original message came from, in which case it should be more likely I want to send another message to the original recipients than back to me.
 
When replying to a message sent by oneself the To-field should be copied from the original to-field rather than the original sender.

It would be nice to have a sidebar block that would contain a list of IdeaSpaces.  Next to each space should be a link to the RSS feed for that IdeaSpace.  Clicking on the IdeaSpace name should take you to the IdeaSpace view.

When I create a tabbled table on a form it would be nice if I could specifiy the background color of the active tab much like I can with the selected outline entry.  Hover color would be nice too.
