Всем привет. С вами снова Natalie Silakoff и наше очередное нескучное занятие.

Итак, сегодня приступим к разбору полетов прошлого урока.

- Привеи, Брэндон.

- Привет, Линда. Но на самом деле меня зовут не Брэндон.

- Ой, извини, тебя зовут Брайн, не так ли? Что ты здесь делаешь?

- Я иду прямо в университет. А что ты сейчас делаешь?

- Жду автобуса, и тем временем читаю вот эту книгу.

- Я могу подождать с тобой.

- О, очень мило с твоей стороны. Чем сейчас занимается твой друг?

- Лежит в постели, смотрит телевизор и ест мои пончики.

- Ха-ха. Моя сестра тоже еще спит. А мы с тобой работаем и учимся.

- Знаю, хуже не бывает. На какую компанию ты работаешь?

- У меня офисная работа в большой компании, я посещаю много покупателей.

- Чем ты занимаешься в свободное время?

- Как видишь, читаю, хожу в кино с сестрой, а еще нам нравися ходить по вечеринкам. Я много путешествую и люблю узнавать мир. Моя сестра тоже любит путешествовать, но у нее просто не хватает денег. А порой я просто люблю поваляться на диване и посмотреть телевизор. А чем ты занимаешься?

- Я учусь и живу здесь. Я достаточно много учусь и работаю в универмаге. А еще я занимаюсь музыкой. Мой друг тоже занимается музыкой. Мы часто играем "в живую".

- Здорово. На какких инструментах вы играете?

- Я играю на гитаре, а мой друг играет на саксофоне.

- Вот и мой автобус. Рада была с тобой поболтать.

- До встечи.

 Упражнение

Linda: Hello, Brandon! 
 
Brian: Hello, Linda, but actually, my name is not Brandon! 
 
Linda: Oh sorry - ooops, your name is... Brian. Right? What  are you doing here? 
 
Brian: I am going straight to the university.  What  are you doing now? 
 
Linda: I am waiting for the bus and, meanwhile,  reading this book! 
 
Brian: I can wait with you. 
 
Linda: Oh, that is so nice of you! And what is your friend  doing now? 
 
Brian: He is lying in bed, watching television, and  eating my donuts.... 
 
Linda: Haha... my sister is also still  sleeping. But we are both working and studying... 
 
Brian: Too bad, I know! Which company  do you work for? 
 
Linda: I have an office job at a large company, and I  drive to many customers. 
 
Brian: What do you do in your spare time? 
 
Linda: I read, as you see, I  go to the cinema with my sister, and we  like to go to
parties. I travel a lot and  like to see the world. My sister also  likes to travel – however,
she just does not have enough money. Sometimes I  like to just simply  lie on my sofa
and watch TV. And what do you do
 
Brian: I study and live here. I  study quite a lot and  work in a department store. And I
make music. My friend  makes music too. We often  do live-stuff!  

Linda: That is cool! Which instrument do you play
 
Brian: I play the guitar! And my friend plays the saxophone! 
 
Linda: Oh, that is my bus! I really  like talking to you! 
 
Brian: See you later!

Love What Is

The purpose of relationships is to heal. Any other agenda is a plan of emotional futility. It's a simple enough focus, yet maintaining it requires diligent effort and a constant re-directing of the ego's petty demands.

The following was written in the form of a prayer, because that's what speaks to me. However, it can easily be a list of affirmations. I wrote this almost a year ago at the threshold of a relationship with a man, and I have referred to it continuously throughout this time in an effort to stay focused on what I believe is the truth: The purpose of relationships is to heal. Ourselves...not the other person. Regardless of the form, length of time in relationship or how many children we've had together, our partner's healing is essentially none of our business.

This is not a cold or uncaring perspective; on the contrary, nothing could be more loving than to accept others for who they are and not insist that their happiness be conditional upon anything we do or don't do. Some of these were easier than others, both to commit to and aspire to, and I don't know if I've come close to actualizing any of them, but I can honestly say that they have been the reins for emotions headed over perilous cliffs; the resource I've called on when different challenges arose; the center I've used to go to and from my partner. All questions have been answered by one or more of these passages. The most significant change I've observed as a result of reciting these affirmations regularly is that I am more peaceful. May they be a source of the same for you.

May all my beliefs be challenged. 
May I release all ideas from the past. 
May I release all attachment to the future. 
May I not identify myself by this relationship. 
May I come to him, be with him and depart from him without conflict. 
May I see any conflict as my own healing need. 
May I let him be who he is and not need him to need me. 
May I learn of him from what he gives/shows and not from what I project. 
May I learn that it might be okay if his body is with my body and then his body is with someone else's. 
May I learn that it might be okay if my body is with his body and then my body is with someone else's. 
May I tend my own garden and accept and love his. 
May I extend my projection of his garden only when asked and then tell the truth and come from love. 
May I not attempt to become the person I project I think he wants me to be. 
May I not attempt to desire his desires or love his loves falsely. 
May I not disregard my true desires and loves. 
May I speak the truth when asked a question and not create a new disguise to hide old errors behind. 
May I learn the value of my own power. 
May I feel with renewed knowing the opening of my heart. 
May I give of myself freely. 
May I refrain from competition. 
May I forgive instead of seek to make wrong. 
May I not seek approval, appreciation or love. 
May I constantly seek Your will and not my own. 
May I not project my own agendas onto him as his, and may I catch myself before attacking him for them. 
May I be present each moment. 
May I Love What Is.

 

 Mr. Bear and Mr. Rabbit

Mr. Bear and Mr. Rabbit lived in the same forest, but they didn't like each other very much. One day, while walking through the woods, and they came across a golden frog. They were amazed when the frog talked to them. The golden frog admitted that he didn't often meet anyone, but, when he did, he always gave them six wishes, so he told them that they could have three wishes each.
Mr. Bear immediately wished that all the other bears in the forest were females. The frog granted his wish. Mr. Rabbit, after thinking for a while, wished for a crash helmet. One appeared immediately, and he placed it on his head.
Mr. Bear was amazed at Mr. Rabbit's wish, but carried on with his second wish. He wished that all the bears in the neighboring forests were females as well, and the frog granted his wish. Mr. Rabbit then wished for a motorcycle. It appeared before him, and he climbed on board and started revving the engine.
Mr. Bear could not believe it and complained that Mr. Rabbit had wasted two wishes that he could have had for himself. Shaking his head, Mr. Bear made his final wish, that all the other bears in the world were females as well, leaving him as the only male bear in the world. The frog replied that it had been done, and they both turned to Mr. Rabbit for his last wish.
Mr. Rabbit revved the engine, thought for a second, then said, “I wish that Mr. Bear was gay!” and rode off as fast as he could.

Creating an account

If you do not already have a WordChamp account, you will first have to create one. You can do this by going to www.wordchamp.com, and clicking on the box on the left side that says "Join Now!". Once you have entered your registration information, check the box to say that you have read the terms and conditions, and click the button at the bottom of the page that says "Create!".

Signing up

Once you have an account, click on the link on the left side of the page that says "Homework". This will take you to the student page, in which there will be a bubble that says "Join a class!". Type the following invitation code into the box in the bubble:

Once you've entered the invitation code, click the "submit" button — this will add you to the class!

Homework

Whenever you log in, you will automatically be sent your "My WordChamp" page. When you have homework due, it will let you know by putting a big red bubble near the top of the page. Clicking this will take you back to the "student page", where you can see all of your upcoming homework assignments. Each assignment will have a button to let you start.
