English Club №5: Sayings Hi, dear subscribers! Thinking about enlarging vocabulary or improving grammar, we often forgot about one part of the language. Even the part of the culture. Sayings. Remember some situations you have used them. They make our language richer and they make the language unique. I suppose that only a man, who can translate sayings know language and culture really good. As this subscription meant to people, learning language on the advanced level, they would be interested in sayings and what they mean. By the way, I want to announce several news. First, I have finished designing the site. It placed by the following address Foreignclub.info. I hope you would have a look at it. And the second announcement is that I'd like to move this subscription to the silver category. So, our subscription expects the flood of new readers. Take care of the pence and the pounds will take care of themselves I hope everyone knows, what Russian saying matches this one The devil is not so black as he is painted No comments In for a penny, in for a pound Means that when gambling or taking a chance, you might as well go the whole way and take all the risks, not just some Every dog has his day Every person has a chance for success No pains, no gains Without work you wouldn't get a result There are only five of them, whereas many thousand exist. As I promised I will allocate new ones in special section of the site. I can't say for sure what the next issue will be about. I have a lot of different thoughts. Probably it will be an "Articles introduction", but very likely it will be a "topic". Finally, if someone suggested an interesting topic I would choose it for the next issue. P.S.
