Pilot Group has released the next version of their Hide Folder software – version
2.7.
Hide Folder is a secure and user-friendly program for password-protecting user’s
important files, folders and discs. It prevents unauthorized access to one’s
sensitive information and programs. The software makes the protected folders
completely invisible, inaccessible or accessible in the read-only mode. Protected
folders and their contents are prevented from being renamed, modified, deleted,
copied, moved, accessed or even seen on the system. Hide Folder 2.7 lets user
specify some selected programs that are still allowed to access the protected
areas (such as virus scanners, disk drive utilities, etc).
To the wide variety of neat features inherited from the last release, Hide Folder
2.7, along with a prettier "XP" look, has added more useful functionality. User
may now utilize the sorting feature to keep the security records in order. Access
records may be sorted by their count number, name, type, access type or any of
the access details. Starting from version 2.7, Hide Folder protects even your
desktop – just like with any other folder, you can set your own access permissions
to it. Besides, you may disallow changes to your desktop settings – shortcuts,
wallpaper, screensaver, etc. On the top of all said above, version 2.7 supports
multiple file systems – FAT, FAT32, and NTFS.
