Andy Pedisich is trying to update his laptop from WinXP so he can still run Domino server on it. He's run afoul of the "security beast" that won't let him create loopback adapters and wonders if anyone else has found a fix for this problem.
Daniel Nashed warns us that, though there were lots of fixes in 8.5.1, there are still a few bugs in the Standard Notes Client. He provides more information on the problem, and the SPR, if you need the fix.
Here's a great time-saving feature of Notes 8.5.1: You don't have to open a meeting invitation to accept or decline it (or do any other meeting action). Now you can do it all from the preview pane i
I got an email this morning alerting me to an issue with the new commenting system in IE 6, which you can see an example of below:
It works but gets a bit screwy very quickly when you expand/collapse threads. This is something I was aware of but had decided not to go to any lengths to fix. Codestore no longer supports IE 6.
Usage stats for this site show that about 10% of you are using IE 6 still. I'm guessing because you have no choice? Well, I'm sorry but you'll have to put up with the quirks of using said browser on this site. I'm not doing anything special here. If your browser can't handle it then...
The Domino XSP library function calls to attach a partial event (XSP.attachPartial) to a DOM element already contains the optional parameter ability to specify clientside before, after and error scripts to run on the event. I've had a complete screenful of the things eating memory on a regular basis. It's a pain to click on that button, click on a document, close it, and repeat to fade.
Can we have a little X button on each entry in that list so that you can just close one without having to switch to it. Also, keep the list open when you do it, so that a user can quickly close others.
A Domino server configured to run with the add-in task NBES.EXE may crash on that task due to excessive memory usage if the server is a member of a Domino cluster and has Streaming Cluster Replication enabled (default).
