We are so stoked to tell you that a new interactive version of the MPC Website is around the corner....
I’m leaving for the Zurich World Inline Cup later this morning. The race takes place tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon at 3pm. Of all the possible cool European cars we could get from the rental company, we ended up with a Toyota Yaris. Find more details about the event here.
You can read some reviews and thoughts about this Sunday’s upcoming World Inline Cup race in Zurich, Switzerland in World Cup Topics for 2008. In ZURICH WIC BONT Shut out., Bill Begg wrote the following;
While the Ladies is as good as signed & sealed the mens, its far from Decided Rollerblade MPC & Alessi Powerslide,are the only two with a chance of the Team overall.

About half of the trips made in the United States are three miles or less, and most are made by car. If you choose to skate, walk or bike instead,...
In Powdered Potatoes, Sigrid Ziegler wrote about a ride with Aaron Arndt, who recently broke his leg in a 49-skater crash in a World Inline Cup race in Switzerland; She said
…in typical Aaron fashion, he was in good spirits and wanted to go for a ride! After the finish of the Tour, we devised a plan to get Aaron on the road, and figured out how he could stop. He cannot move his right foot, so the shoe remains permanently strapped into the pedal and the right leg is more or less along for the ride. He can’t weight bear, which made for an interesting concept.

To be part of the national team is always important for me, because since I was younger, I wanted to be in the team! The World Championships are a special event, because once in the year, I can race with all the best skaters in the world!!!
The drive from Nantes to Weinfelden was very long. I am proud to announce that we did not get lost. That’s because between work outs, I spent a few hours obsessing over maps and directions.
Weinfelden is a beautiful, quaint, and clean town. Morgane and I went for a walk and my impression was that all the buildings and homes were carefully cared for and tended.
I’m staying in a house filled that is teeming with skaters, including fine athletes from New Zealand, Colombia, Venezuela, Switzerland, Finland (I think…), France, and now Canada.
When I first arrived and I was looking for the house, I could tell the house from the others because it was the one with a whole bunch of roadbikes in the front.
The house has a buzz of skaters in training, focused, winding up and winding down, stretching, tired, and fresh. Some are cooking and some are eating. Some are pacing and some are chilling. Some are surfing (the net) and others are reading.
It’s a good place to be…
for a person like me
I didn’t go to the track here in Weinfelden. It’s not necessary. Instead, I got to chat with oldkiwi. He’s actually not that old and he’s not as mean as he seems in the Bont forum.
If you go to the thread World Cup Topics for 2008, Bill Begg indicates that the race (World Cup) is now a manly 42km instead of a wimpy 35km.
Thanks to Bill Begg and family for letting us stay here.
Now it’s time to rest. I may put a note up about the Zurich WIC tomorrow evening.
