On alpha, mining does not bring much. Since Venture has a small compartment for resources of 5000 m3 and lasers can mine up to 500 m3 per minute maximum. Another plus to everything, ore in highsec is cheap. For example, now veldspar costs 9 isk, that is, in 12-15 minutes you will have Venture veldspar 50,000, this is about 450,000 isk. Accordingly, in an hour you will earn a maximum of up to 2kk isk. Therefore, many try to mining on Venture in lowsec, where there are more expensive ores, such as omber, jaspet, kernite, hemorfite, etc.

But if you calculate how much Ventura Omber will cost in isks, you get 8000 omber, at the current price of 320-400 isks, you will get 2.8kk. which will give you about 12kk isks per hour. As you can see, it's already more. If you use Ventura to get into a wh or wormhole, there will be even more expensive ore like Gneiss, Crockite, Bistot. Let's calculate how much you can earn if you mine on Ventura in a wh. 1000 Gneiss is a full Ventura, accordingly, the cost of gneiss is now 3000, then it turns out 2.7kk in general, the same thing happens as with lowsec.

How to increase earnings?

If you mining gas in Wormhole with a Venture, you can increase your earnings to 20-25kk per hour. Which is 2 times more than farning ore. However, you will have to do some preparatory work, buy a book and a skill for gas for 40 million. Then buy gas suckers for 5 million on Venture. Buy a cruiser to shoot bots that fly to gas and be prepared to lose it, since WH is a PVP zone like lowsec.

All ships, a scanner, Venture, and a cruiser. You place them in an empty system where few people are, usually a dead end with one warpgate, in your sector. And every day you will have a new WH for farming. Since every 16-24 hours, the entrance to Wormhole changes. This applies to the alpha. You can also say that you can try to mining with a fleet, under an orca and porpois, which will give a bonus to reduce the operating time of the laser and its range.

You can also mining in an orca, where the head of the fleet at the station will give you everything that you mine up according to the history of the fleet, but then you will have to give 10% of what you mined, as agreed. But the mining speed under the bonuses will increase by 30-50%

Now omega

On omega, there are shovels for digging retriever, covetor, procurer There are also bonuses, orca and porpois. The bagre learns in 3 days. And it mining at least 2-3 times faster than Venture. That is, it turns out that in highses per hour earnings are 6kk, in Low and vh 24kk-36kk per hour. And this is without the bonus. With the bonus it comes out to 7-8kk and 30-50kk.
That is, you have mine up 80kk per day, and you have omega for the next month at current prices of minerals and omega 2.4kk 2023 year.

If you do mining in Low or WH, then you get some crazy earnings up to 500kk per day. But as you understand, Venture costs 3kk and a barge is already 100kk with a fit. Therefore, the loss of a ship throws you back from Omega one day.
The fastest ore is mined by the Covetor, but it is the most unprotected and is most often ganked in highsec.

The most protected ship and combat one is the Procurer, and if you decide to farm Lowsec or WH, then do it on the Procurer. At least you will not be killed so quickly, and you can fight off frigates, and a fleet of 5 Procurers can disassemble a T3 cruiser with drones. Bonus drones mining a little better than Venture, somewhere 2-3 times. Porpoisd is 900 m3 per minute, and for the orca it is 1200+ m3 per minute with the industrial module training to the maximum.

But the hold is huge 60k for the porpoise and 240k+ for the orca, as well as the distribution of bonuses to fleet members, and the ability to compress ore in space for the entire fleet! That is, we can assume that T1 barges can mine up to 2000 m3 per minute when trained, and T2 barges up to 3000 m3 per minute. Compare this with Venture up to 500 m3 per minute. In addition, on the omega there is such a thing as ice mining.

In the highsec there are anomalies with an ice belt, on which a fleet of barges and bonusers always sits, because ice is very profitable. But you can't really make money there, like on a regular belt in highsec. I'd guess by eye that ice is 2-3 times more profitable than regular ore in highs. We still have to talk about moon mining and rorqual

There is moon mining in the game, moons are different from R4 with the simplest ore, to R64 with the most expensive lunar ore, rich in minerals. In highsec, moons can only be mined in systems with 0.5 safety. There, near the lighthouse, an athanor or tatara and a corresponding module are placed, which will break off a piece of rock from the moon and pull it to the station. This will take from 7 to 50 days, your choice. The more time, the larger the piece of rock will be.

In highsec, there are only R4 moons with the simplest ore. In WH, all the moons are only R4 class, the simplest.
R64 moons are only in Lowsec and Nullsec, and there is a fight for them, they are sold and rented out. That is, billions of ISK lie in R64 moons, having mined up which you can provide yourself with an omega for many years.

Now about the Rorqual

This is a mega-bonus with crazy mining drones, and the Rorqual is not allowed in Highsec, it can be built in WH, or bought and built in Low and Null systems. Where, as you understand, the Rorqual can be killed. Accordingly, if you leave the Wormhole, the Rorqual will have to be processed into minerals, and in order to mining on the Rorqual in. Low and Null secs, you must either control the system with your corporation, or come to an agreement with the owners of space.

The Rorqual excavator drone digs 2.5 times faster than the Porpois and Orca drone. That is, it will be up to 3000 m3 per minute, in theory, and maybe more. Like a T2 barge, only with an infinite hold, bonuses and all sorts of fancy modules.

That is, as you understand, the Rorqual will very quickly mining up the ore belt in the wh, Low and Null. Well, and the moons, respectively, too. After the orca, the rorka studies for 2-3 months minimum and when purchased, the rorka will move to a station in the nearest lowsec system, like all capital ships that cannot be in highsec.

And lastly, what to do if you manage to earn not one omega by mininng, but two or three? Then you boosting up the bonus with your main account, and take the omega on other accounts. On them, you learning the alts barge in 3 days, and start farming belts in highsec, lowsec, nullsec and wh with your fleet, as well as ice and ore anomalies.

In this way, we pay off the omega for all accounts and earn even more isk. But starting with 5 accounts, you will hit the keyboard like a piano.  There is also a chance that you will start to feel sick from mining or even from eve, and you will abandon the game for many years. There is just a video where people are mining using the same principle with 20 accounts lol. There will be a lot of Claims, but no desire or pleasure to play. Probably...

This is probably the high end content, mining R64 moons with the fleet.

Mining in 2025

Lately, I often see that a lot of people advise beginners to never mine in the highsector. That it is very unprofitable and should not be done at all, the beginner stops developing, etc. Therefore, the time has come to test it yourself, is it really so. Is it possible to achieve success exclusively by mining in the highsec?

Start - Velator

We take a free corvette on a new character at the station, and using the existing gaming experience, we look for a fleet for mining with bonuses and a compressor. Unfortunately, we are unlucky, we have to fly 14 jumps to Jita to mine under the bonuses.

Under the bonuses, tof porpoise its writes 1m3 per second, which is about 300,000 ISK per hour. Since there is 0 ISK on the wall, and about 3kk ISK is needed for the next upgrade to Venture, it becomes unpleasant to dig for 10 hours.
But we are saved by 500k for daily dailies and ISK for completing AMI. Therefore, we move on to the next stage in 10 minutes.

Venture - a milestone in development has been reached

So far, the received ISK has been enough, only for T1 meta-miners. But they gave SP for dailies and with AMI, I managed to pump up the necessary skills in advance, except for the last one:

In total, under the fleet bonuses we have:

6.2m3/s is 2kk per hour, as it was several years ago, in principle not bad, S is stability. But unfortunately, the fleet is leaving, and to buy T2 miners, you need 1.6kk ISK. Here again, AMI and sold ore help out:

With T2 miners, Venture mines solo, as under bonuses with meta-miners:

Again, it turns out 2 million per hour, only this time solo. We are looking for a system with a player station and a working ore compressor, we dump the dug up ore into the station, waiting for a new public fleet nearby:

How to get 1kk sp on main / Как получить на основу 1кк сп?
On any account, even an old one, follow the link, and at the bottom under the fields, click "Log in to become a recruit". You don't need to fill out the form: 1млн навыков бесплатно сп / 1mln free skills.

Then the public fleet is located, at the exit from the ventura and t2 miners we get:

10.8 m3 / s - 3.5-4kk per hour. In principle, compared to the corvette, we boosted mining by 10 times in an hour. But for the next milestone in development on the miner's path, 200kk isko will be needed. And this is 100 hours of mining without a fleet, and 50 hours with a fleet. Roughly speaking, 1-2 weeks of real time.

Discovery

Then, while mining, you remember about discovery, it's 10kk per day extra on alpha, and 20kk on omega daily for 1-2 hours:

But you realize that now discovery has become more difficult to do, and the reward remains the same as it was:

And then you have to forget about discovery, because you're lazy.

Grinding

In general, the interval between Venture and 200kk for the next upgrade is a kind of grinding and mining for 50-100 hours:

Expert - Retriever

By hook or by crook, we farmed 200kk and now we can afford to buy a Retriever for 100kk as well as a subsystem for it for another 100kk for 7 days to mine on the Retriever on alpha:

As they say, 15 plex and you're an expert:

With the new input data, we get the following indicators on the Retriever:

13.2m3/s is almost 4.5kk per hour, and if the same the most, but under the fleet bonuses:

It turns out 24.6 m3/s - that's more than 8kk per hour! The retriever with the subsystem mine almost like the Orca with the bonuses from it in the fleet.

The next upgrade of mining will happen only on Omega, in terms of ore. We are not talking about gas in the same wormhole now. Because on the subsystem you can only mine, but not boosting the retriever itself. If our speed varies from 4 to 8kk per hour, depending on the presence of a fleet with bonuses. We take the average, 6kk per hour.

So, to mining up Omega with a subsystem, you will need about 500+ hours on Alpha, i.e. even more grind:

This turns out to be about 2 months of mining in highs to move to Omega. And already on it, we begin to upgrade the retriever, fully, without subsystems.

Adept of mining

If we fully upgrade skills to t2 crystals and imp in the character, then on Covetor we will get the following values:

On A-type crystals solo Covetor digs 31.6m3/3 - this is more than 10kk per hour, like Orca! Well, B-type crystals give:

They give us 39m3/s - this is 13kk per hour of isk! Now let's run Kovetor through the fleet and bonuses:

58.4m3/s - almost 20kk per hour on A-type. B-type crystals:

give 73m3/s - this is almost 25kk per hour with Kovetor with bonuses! But that's not all!

Mining veteran

Same as with the covetor, but now with the Makinawa, a T2 Retriever that is almost full:

Mining in a solarium with a-type crystals 30m3/s - 10kk per hour. We put on the b-type:

And we get almost 13kk per hour on the Makinawa with 39m3/s. We run it through the fleet bonuses:

A-type 56.6m3/s - about 19kk per hour. What the b-type shows:

The image says 70.6m3/s - about 23kk per hour.

The Hulk, under bonuses in the same conditions, is said to give 90m3/s, and under the Rorqual bonuses about 110m3/s. But that's not all.

Adventurer
  • If you do mining in 0.5 on athanor, then all the values above can be multiplied by two times x2
  • mining in Lowsec, wormhole or soil, multiply by x3
  • mining in zeros, multiply by x5 approximately
  • mining gas, multiply by x3-5
Conclusion

As you can see from the numbers in the highsector, it turns out to mine less than in other space in terms of profit. The question I would like to ask: If your whole face is in minerals... More precisely, if everything is so, then why is everything not so? :)

How to beat the game

The first conclusion was that this is a game about pain and suffering. But now, there is a subjective continuation of this thought. A clear example:

Eve is a sandbox, it is impossible to completely win or lose in it. And on average, all players move at a speed of 30, 70, 100kk per hour of isks, regardless of the ship they fly on, in Highs, Lows and Nulls with WH. So:

Hypothesis

You can complete the game when you have found, or come up with, a way to move at a speed 10-100 times faster than what is on the screen. That is, 300-3kkk, 700kk-7kkk and 1kk-10kkk.

Then, it will no longer matter much what space you live in. After all, relative to normal indicators, your development is 10-100 times faster. And the higher the speed, the slower time seems to flow. For an outside observer, you will fly by like lightning, and for you, other pilots with normal speeds will be like stationary objects on the road.

It seems to me that the game is about pain while you are moving at such standard speeds along it. What do you think?

Is it necessary to play Eve logically?

The current world chess champion of our time is famous for being able to win drawn positions in the late game, and is able to make non-standard moves, thereby confusing the opponent and forcing him to think. That is, if you ask how to farm omega, they will immediately answer you that you need to either scan or beat expeditions, or make abbis. But you can’t mine veldspar or trade carbon, for example. Because it is not profitable.

Magnus Carlsen is so tired of classical chess with hundreds of guides on how to move and why it would be logical to move this way. That he now happily plays freestyle chess, where some pieces are not where they usually are, and you have to think about your moves.

Space and time

Space and time separate players in Eve and corporations from each other. And if everything is clear with space, then one person is in a wormhole, and the other is in a pochven, and it is physically difficult to find or get to each other. Then over time everything is much more interesting, because living in a neighboring location with pirates, for example, you are close to them in terms of space, but in terms of development you can be very far from each other. After all, they will warp titan to your vexor, since time flowed faster for the pirates than for you, as a newbie.

Therefore, such a situation of unfair PvP and blob often occurs in EVE. It's like playing chess, but only with half the pieces on the board, or a row of pawns, compared to the person who has been actively playing the game for 10-20 years. This is not a RUST game, and there is no server wipe. How to survive in such a situation? Skill and the ability to beat an opponent under unequal conditions play a role here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbU3-QwcRIo

For more or less normal play with fewer pieces or against a computer that is focused only on winning, Nakamura in the video advises not to exchange pieces until, due to personal experience and tactics, you make an equal number of chess with your opponent in quality / quantity. Otherwise, they will simply roll up.

There is also an interesting topic about space and time, about which people have not slept at night for many years and thought about why this is so:

In general, in the universe there is an infinite number of galaxies and stars in them, and wherever you poke your finger in the sky, you will definitely hit some star. If this is so, then:

Why is it dark at night?

Logically, the sky at night should be strewn with stars, and everything should shine. And this question tormented humanity for a very long time until the answer came:

Stars end not in space, but in time

So it is with corporations, in space you can be close, in the same constellation, but in time very far from each other, in terms of development. For example, if your ship or citadel was blown up, it means that you were thrown back in time. And the opponent remained at the same development as he was.

In wormhole, low, pocven, the speed is three times higher than in highsec. In nullsec, your development is five times faster, due to access to the resources that are there. Like, go to nullsec and you will be happy. But you can speed up not at the expense of resources, mining moons and hacking relics, or armies, capturing your neighbor's systems.

There is also the antipode of resources and armies - these are technologies and logistics.

Imagine if you somehow get a filament that can push you into any system of space - regular, wh, pocven of your choice. Hyper-drive! How much will this speed you up in time, compared to the currently existing Alliances and corporations? Probably it will be a boost of 30, 50, or even several hundred times in development. And this is just logistics.

Examples from the game

Two simple examples of how you can boost technology and logistics. So that the principle itself is clear.

1) Technology

Let's take a regular T1 Venture, you fly around the WHs in search of ore, but everything is empty, which means someone ahead of you has already farmed everything. A standard Venture gives the following scan results:

Scan frequency is 8 seconds. We upgrade and add a module to the scan:

We get the following results:

Scan frequency is 7 seconds. You will say that one second is very little. Yes, it is, the question is over what period of time to consider it. One penny left in a billion years in a deposit will give you a value with an infinite number of zeros. It's
the same with scanning, it is obvious that you will throw probes if you actively scan, many thousands and tens of thousands of times. The difference will accumulate over time and sooner or later, you will begin to find systems untouched by anyone. And so on, with each type of activity in the game.

2) Logistics

A real-life story. I want to mine, but I don't have any fuel for the Heavy Water compressor. The local market sells fuel for some really big ISK:

196 ISK per unit of Heavy Water. It takes 10 jumps one way to fly to Dodixie, but the fuel is cheaper there:

That is, 20 minutes and you bought a dst transport of fuel, which is 150,000 units of heavy water, which is 60k m3 in weight. It seems cheap and a saving. But in Jita, it's even cheaper, although it takes 15 jumps one way, which means the time spent is 30 minutes:

How to buy cheap fuel without messing around with it? The answer is very simple:

https://red-frog.org/red_calculator

We read the conditions that no more than 845,000 m3 by weight, and no more than 1.5kkk ISK in cost. This means that you can create a courier and bring 2,000,000 heavy water from Jita. According to ISK, this is 220kk, and they require 33kk to be paid for delivery:

Accordingly, 2kkk fuel costs us 253kk ISK, which according to calculations is 253 / 2 = 127 ISK. That is, simply by ordering a courier for fuel, we just saved ISK, and most importantly 2kkk / 150k = 13 x 20 = 260/60 = 4 hours and 20 minutes of your game time!

It's funny to hear how highsec doesn't develop when you a priori play on a higher difficulty with a deficit of everything, compared to nullsec. Therefore, defeat resources and army, technologies and logistics!

Addition

For those who are especially curious, you can subtract the ratio when it is convenient to place a buy order, and when to order a courier. There, starting from 15% of the margin, a buy order is guaranteed to be delivered, 5% commission from the sale and 10% profit for the carrier reseller. But in some cases, a courier is more profitable than a buy order. If you are interested, you can calculate it yourself o7

A picture can convey the context and atmosphere that are difficult to describe in words.

Or when you are too lazy to write. /0\

Three dangerous capsuleers

Based on a video where the author talks about the three most dangerous types of people in real life - those with nothing to lose, those who have often faced violence, and hidden predators. Let's transfer this to Eve:

Nothing to Lose

The first most dangerous type of capsuleers is those with the feeling that they have nothing to lose. In real life, these could be homeless people, drug addicts, since they don't have a family, home, etc. holding them back. I have two examples in Eve.

The first is that a co-corporate flew to Pochven on a magnate for 1kk, he bought up in Jita and never took the filament back. I asked him why, he answered that he is not flying to live, he is flying to die and in between looting salvage, dropping it off at the NPC station in Pochven. Indeed, when you have 100-1000 spare attempts on a ship (magnate, cormorant, thorax, cyclone, praxis), then there is a feeling that there is nothing to lose in principle, and if you also have an alpha account (or pay in real money), i.e. no need to farm 50 plex every 3 days, everything only gets worse.

The second example, if all your structures or your corporation were demolished. After that, it is no longer possible to agree on anything since there is no longer a factor that holds you back. For example, in Planetside 2 you can never drive one of the factions to the warpgate, but always leave 1-2 bases and switch to another race because you can't capture the spawn. If you don't do this, then the squeezed faction fully switches to yours and victory on the continent no longer becomes its main task. Their task will be to specifically take away as many bases from you as possible.

Lots of experience in violence

In the author's video, examples are MMA fighters, street fighters, police and those professions/occupations where you have to deal with violence every day. That is, you poke a finger at such a person, and not only will he turn it inside out, he will also shove it somewhere and show that you can actually do more to a person than you think. Because ordinary people and those who often face violence have very different boundaries in terms of what can be done and what cannot be done.
In our game, these are places with a lot of PvP: Frac War, Pochven, WH, Low, Null, Ganking in Highsec. Often such people have a negative security status, because they have to blow up a lot of ships or capsules. But it is not necessary, security status can be washed.

On any account, even an old one, follow the link, and at the bottom under the fields, click "Log in to become a recruit". You don't need to fill out the form: 1млн навыков бесплатно сп / 1mln free skills.

Socorp from the example on the Magnate, who farmed Pocven, then evolved due to an excessive amount of PvP, when looting the Salvage of Triglav. He put a scrambler, guns on the magnate, in parallel with the farm, he killed all the T1 frigates that he could catch and defended himself. Well, the magnate went up in price from 1kk to 12-16kk.

Hidden Predator

This is a representative of the first or second type, but you did not recognize a threat in him and took him for an ordinary person. Like an MMA fighter goes to a friend with a chessboard to play, this does not mean that he is a chess player, but you can decide at first glance.

In Eve, for example, this often happens, you look at the board, the pilot is farming for himself on a Vexor, and then it turns out that this is a suicidal Vexor with 600 dps. Or you are mining in lowsec, Venture warps to the belt, mining something, it can be a blaster and with a scram, or Venture lights a cyno on which several black ops jump and shoot your ship.
The winter event is the same, endurances with blasters in lowsec. Then praxis baits with a scram, which is impossible to neutralize on the gate. The Hidden Predator can be partially recognized by the killboard, but this method does not always work. Mimicry for PvE or a newbie.
