Navigation in Wormholes (part 1)

Navigation in Wormholes (part 1)
2025-08-19 11:54 alienshooter

Navigation is done with the help of bookmarks, both personal and common, to which you can fly, having previously saved the place. Common folder for the corporation's wormhole.

General provisions

To fly relatively safely through the wormhole, it is better to be able to do three main things:

1. Save the Wormhole from which you entered the wormhole in bookmarks. Right-click on the wormhole - save. This will allow you to fly to 0 meters to it, if you fly along the bookmark (saved coordinate).
2. Be able to make a safe place between planets, from where you can scan the wormhole. You start the flight to the most distant point of the system, press Ctrl + B and make a bookmark while the ship is in flight between the planets. Thus, you can only be scanned by combat probes.

3. Be able to use the d-scan. Open the subscan with the Alt + D command, and separate the d-scan window from the system map, drag it to the chat window, or to any convenient place. Set the distance to a maximum of 14.3 AU, and the scanning angle to 360 degrees around the ship. And when you are in the WH or Pochven, constantly press the V button on the keyboard to see what is happening in space near you, and whether they are looking for you using a Combat probe.
4. Bonus. Accelerate the ship into empty space, with the engine on. That is, if you are scanned by combat probes, then they will fly to your signal already 100 km from the place where you were, if the engine speed is 2500 m/s. To keep the ship flying constantly while you scan for anomalies, double-click on the empty space in space and turn on the engine on your ship. If you have an omega, you don't have to do this, just learn a prototype cloak in 1 day, and you turn it on while scanning, being invisible.

Navigation by wormholes

Saved coordinates are in Menu -> Personal -> Places. You drag the opened window to the right side of the screen in the lower corner, under the window with your overview (main panel). Thus, if while you are scanning or hacking a data relic, an enemy appears nearby, you can react relatively quickly and warp to a safe place, to a previously made wormhole or to the exit from the wormhole.

If you scan in the wormhole, then you save all coordinates for 2 days as a rule, since every 16-24 hours the wormholes change, entrances and exits. And even earlier, if they are slapped by players en masse, with their ships.

It is also worth adding that as soon as you exit the game, everything you have scanned will disappear, and you will have to scan it again. But the beechs you made will remain. And this is another reason to do them.

Possible designations of anomalies:
  • ! w-1 exit - a wormhole where you came from, can lead to high or to the previous wormhole, if you jumped deep into several systems.
  • w-2, w-3, w-4, w-5, etc. - some wormholes.
  • w-3 + - the wormhole will soon collapse or by time "coming to the end of the life cycle" or by mass "the mass has reached a critical value and is about to collapse".
  • w-4 s - a wormhole through which only frigates "small-tonnage ships" can pass.
  • w-5 s + - a wormhole through which only frigates can pass and it will soon collapse (1-2 hours).
  • w-6 c2 - a wormhole that leads to the c2 system of the WH, the second level of complexity. C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6. For scanning data relics in the WH, only C1, C2 and C3 systems are suitable. C4 and higher - only protected data relics in 100% of cases.
  • w-7 low - the wormhole leads to the lowsec.
  • w-8 high - the wormhole leads to the highsector.
  • w-9 null - the wormhole leads to nullsec.

When you have scanned the wormhole inside the WH system, you warp to it at 100km, save with the right button in the bookmarks to fly to it at 0 meters, rewarp to the safespot and only then to this wormhole by coordinates.

All this will save your ship in 80% of cases o7

How to get 1kk sp on main / Как получить на основу 1кк сп?
On any account, even an old one, follow the link, and at the bottom under the fields, click "Log in to become a recruit". You don't need to fill out the form: 1млн навыков бесплатно сп / 1mln free skills.

There are many more nuances regarding navigation in WH that I would like to talk about:

1. Why can you scan data relics only in C1, C2 and C3 systems?
Because in C4 and higher, all data and relics are protected by rats. And there is mostly junk there, since protected data relics are made not because of the loot in boxes, but because of the increased drop of 25% from the "blue" sleepers. Many people think that there is a lot of loot in protected data relics, but in fact it is the opposite.

2. How to distinguish an unprotected data relic from one protected by mobs?
If you play on a Russian client, then with 100% scanning of data relics in WH, the unprotected ones will always have a Russian name. For example, "Serpentis Temple Complex, etc." Protected ones will always have an English name at 100% scanning "Unsecured data Sleeper, something there..."

3. How do they usually kill in the WH?
1. They kill at the exit from the WH, if your ship has a warp of more than 3 seconds.
2. They kill in the sun, inexperienced scanners.
3. They kill when you are on a safespot or an anomaly and you are scanned by combat probes, if you did not use the d-scan, and did not see that there is someone in the system.
4. They kill in invisibility, scanning for example gas or data and flying up to you tightly while you are scanning or hacking a box. And if you do not have time to warp out in 3 seconds, then they kill. Sometimes even a 3-second warp does not save.
5. They kill when you make a combat anomaly, flying to you just on it, without scanning.
6. They kill when you warp to the exit, stretching a bubble in front of the wormhole, which does not allow warping.
7. They kill meanly leaving one data untouched to catch all the scanners on it, waiting for prey in invisibility with the fleet.
8. They kill on gas sites, there is one anomaly where 6 turrets with one salvo sleepers kill Venture. If you do not know the name of this only anomaly. Is "Ordinary Perimeter Reservoir".

4. How to make sure that they do not kill in the ways above?

1. Do not be near the Wormhole inside the WH, without invisibility.
2. Do not warp into the WH in the sun.
3. Constantly press d-scan, accelerate the ship into empty space if you are alpha. If you are omega, study and put a cloak on the ship.
4. Warp from your frigate 2-3 seconds. Moreover, 3.01 seconds is already considered a warp - like 4 seconds. press, scan.
5. Be from the warp point to the anomaly in 100km, accelerate on the safespot, while you clean the mobs. Take a tractor with you, close the anomaly and then warp to the tractor so that it disappears from the search. There are T2 cruisers on the omega, which are not visible on the d-scan. Its Rook, Huggin, Lachesis and Curse.
6. Carry filaments with you to the Pochven and from the Pochven 2-3 pieces.
7. Take loot from the data relic to the Highsec to the station, each time when it reaches 20-50kk. So that you are not killed with 1kkk in the cargohold (there were cases).
8. The name of the anomaly with gas turrets is "Ordinary Perimeter Reservoir".

5. How and why do they scan in nullsec?

In WH, data relics come from the highsector and nullsec, so you should always have a Cargo Scanner with you on your ship to avoid hacking empty boxes and wasting time. In nullsec, all data relics have good loot and you don't need to constantly press d-scan, since there is local, and if you are alone in the nullsec system, you can breathe a sigh of relief.

You have to fly to nullsec through lowsec, and this is a pvp zone. That's why people use filaments to immediately teleport to nullsec, scan data relics, and through lowsec with loot, get back to the highsector, also using filaments to the Pochven.

6. How much ISK can be in a box in WH or in one system?

From what I saw, it's 180kk in a box and 600kk from one system. I scanned the system from a dead-end system of the high sector. Jumped 3 systems deep. And there a new signal opened in front of me, a wormhole for small-tonnage ships, from where I took out 600kk for 50kk, rewarped 10 times to high with loot.

7. Is it possible that you can't scan anything overnight and how to find an untouched wormhole system?

Yes, this happens very often and is very disorienting. Jump into wormhole from lowsec or dead highsec (1 warpgate).

8. How to understand which WH you are in?

Enter the WH number in the Google search engine or use the site http://anoik.is/.

9. What is the difference between C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 WH systems?

These are difficulty levels, the higher the number, the higher the difficulty. And the loot from IMO anomalies is correspondingly higher. For example, in C1, 6-8kk worth of blue drops from one combat anomaly, in C2 it is 12-16kk. C3 already gives up to 40kk from an anomaly. But the difficulty also increases. For example, C1-C2 can be pulled out on Gnosis. In C3, it is already better to fly on Praxis or something more serious. Even C2 is better to do on Praxis, it is more convenient and faster, but you can also use Captab Gnosis. In C4 and higher, all data relics are 100% protected. In C1-C3, there are unprotected data relics that are made by a frigate.

In c5-c6 systems there are drifters that warp to you at any point in the WH, hang a scraper and kill you. More information about how many anomalies fall from c1-c6 can be found at:

https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Wormhole_sites

10. What is static, high low, null? What are the features?

Static is a Wormhole with a certain number, when you have scanned it 100%, which will constantly lead to high, low, null, c2 - and other levels of input. Even if it closes, the same one with the same number will open and it will also lead to high, if static is in highes.

11. What is tonnage and how long does a wormhole live, the mass of a wormhole?

Tonnage is the maximum ship that a wormhole can pass through itself by size. For example, all C1 systems only pass Maximum Battlecruisers. There are wormholes for frigates - small-tonnage ships, for Battleships - large ships. And for everything else - very large ships.

A wormhole lives 16-24 hours, depending on its type, that is, if by time. That is, if you are scanning a wormhole in a dead system, then every day you will have a new wormhole in the system. Or if you are inside a wormhole, then you become an interstellar traveler from science fiction novels, who will see different wormholes to new systems every day, not like yesterday, and not like tomorrow!

Wormhole mass - each ship has a mass, the larger the ship, the greater its mass, Wormhole can slam shut not only by time, but also by mass. If the hole is used too often, then it collapses, because of the mass. The mass of the hole can be found out by its number in special services like

https://evemaps.dotlan.net/wormholes

12. How to find out the type of wormhole, and how to understand how much time it has left and when it will disappear?

Right-click on the scanned wormhole and three parameters are written there:

1. Time - will not last more than one day (up to 24 hours and it will close), coming to the end of the life cycle - 2 hours left).
2. Mass - has not yet been significantly disturbed by those passing through it (the mass is not touched, the wormhole was used little or the mass is large), was significantly disturbed, but did not reach a critical state (less than 50% of the mass remains and it will collapse), reached a critical point (1-2 passes and it will collapse).

How to get 1kk sp on main / Как получить на основу 1кк сп?
On any account, even an old one, follow the link, and at the bottom under the fields, click "Log in to become a recruit". You don't need to fill out the form: 1млн навыков бесплатно сп / 1mln free skills.

13. What is Terra, the Shattered system?

Terra is the capital of all scanners, there are NPC stations and a lot of wormholes in different systems and places. There are services that allow you to easily get to Terra.

https://www.eve-scout.com/thera/map/

The Shattered is a system with destroyed planets and satellites. You can't put your station and Control Tower in it, there are also a lot of wormholes in different systems.

14. What to do if after restarting the server the probes disappeared or the wormhole collapsed and there are no probes on the ship?

1. There is a corporation that rescues people stuck in WH Eve-scout.

https://evescoutrescue.com/home/

2. Fly through the wh with filaments into the Pochven, from it or at least into nulls. So at least they will kill you in nullsec, and maybe you will be able to break through to highsec.
3. If you are on a cheap frigate for 1kk, then start the ship's self-destruction. On the capacitor, right-click - start self-destruction.
4. Carry 24 scanning probes with you. 8 loaded and 16 spare in the hold.

15. Why need to go into the wh if there are so many problems?

1. The wh is an opportunity to earn 600kk in a few hours on data relics if you're lucky. On a frigate for 1kk.
2. The wh is an opportunity to extract gas, which gives 5-10 times more isk on alpha, on ventura. Than mining ore in the high sector.
3. WH is an expensive ore, fromnull and lowsec, which is 4-5 times more expensive than highsec.
4. WH is blue loot from sleepers, if you do one battle for a few minutes, you can farm a lot of isk very quickly. And also T2 salvage, in systems C3 and higher.
5. WH is a planetary industry on Omega, the planets are full of resources, you can practically recoup the cost of Omega with one account (3 characters).

16. What are the negative aspects of Wormholes?

1. You have to constantly press d-scan on alpha. There is no opportunity to relax. Since you never know if someone is in the system or not. Compared to the same lowsec and nullsec. Where there is a local chat and it says the number of people in the system. It is easier on Omega, since there is a cloak, you can turn it on and go drink tea, for example.
2. Nothing may drop overnight. One day you get 500, and then the next days nothing drops. You can get very strong dismorality.
3. Everything you bring into the wh, most likely sooner or later will be lost. They will blow up the ship on the anomaly, demolish the station, drive the Control Tower into reinforcement. This is a PvP zone. Only because of the disabled local develops paranoia.
4. Monotony you will constantly fly through the wh, bookmark new holes, sanitize them, every day you will have to scan the exit from the wormhole, if you live inside.

SP farm or endless omega without skills, on imjectors to the stars

At the moment 03/01/23 the sp farm is unprofitable. A bank of skills 500k sp can be sold net for 870kk, and the extractor costs 510kk, for pumping skills. Thus, from 500k sp, you get 350kk isk net at the moment. So, to recoup the omega, you need 7 injectors per month.

But it turns out about 2.5 cans per month with bonuses up to 3 cans, without implants and remap. With the latter, implants for the main and additional skill, and remap of points for the main skill that's all, the remainder for the additional. It turns out 3.5 cans per month, with daily bonuses 4 cans.

Thus, you still need to farm 1kkk per month to play on Omega, extracting skills from yourself into injectors and selling them in Jita. But all the delights of Omega will be available, including ships. But without training skills. It is worth recalling that you can learn skills if your character has at least 5,500,000 sp already. Decide for yourself o7
