[JFWRus] Re: Russian Braille
Hello Ciro,
Actually, the Russian Braille table is installed with all Unicode JAWS
versions, beginning with 6.10. To use it for your Braille display, just
bring up the JAWS window, press Alt+O for Options, L for Braille, then tab
three times until you hear "Translation Table, Combo Box". From here, please
use your arrow keys, or just type R to switch to Rus_Unicode. Press Enter to
save the changes and dismiss the dialog. Incidentally, as of JAWS 6.10,
Russian characters are displayed correctly with all factory-supplied Unicode
Braille tables. However, you do need to switch to Rus_Unicode to get the
standard Russian punctuation.
If you require the Russian Braille table for an ANSI version of JAWS, or for
a version older than 6.10, please download it here:
ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/rusbrltbl.zip.
Please note: we have a very detailed white paper on configuring JAWS for
Russian and other non-Latin languages. You are welcome to view or download
this document at:
ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/Cyrillic_Configuration.htm
Thank you for using Freedom Scientific products, and please let me know if I
can be of any further assistance.
Sincerely,
Oleg Shevkun
