Precision is not always necessary, sometimes it's downright vital. Jerry Carter has run across problems with mathematical precision in LotusScript before, so he tested the results of a simple calculation under Domino 8.5.

What about the ability to provide feedback on a contractor; ebay style?  I don't know if employment law allows such things but it would be cool to be able to check references directly on the site.

Sorry to be pedantic, but I think the "What makes us special" section could be improved.

Firstly, the heading is a question, so add a question mark, i.e. "What makes us special?"

Secondly, in the first sentence I suggest changing "entirely dedicated" to "dedicated". "Dedicated" is an absolute, you can't be partially dedicated to something so the word "entirely" in "entirely dedicated" is redundant.

Thirdly, the next sentence should begin with "Its" not "It's". "It's" means "It is".

These are suggestions, not criticisms! I think Blueskills is a great idea and Iook forward to seeing the site fill up with jobs adverts!

Idea:
There are I believe standard design patterns out there for different country's address formats. In addition as Rob McD has pointed out education terms vary by country. The default is certainly not US friendly at the moment (there wasn't even a US option when I first tried it out :-) )

The country profiles would control:

-Address format
-Education categories (Not too specific though unless recruiters can include multiple categories in their search criteria)
- Other stuff TBD

This architecture recommends a progressive disclosure "wizard" approach to filling out data. Something like:

PAGE1...capture first/last/email/password and country...NEXT... (save that in case they don't go further, send reminder email about "incomplete profile" sometime later)...PAGE 2 load country-specific address fields, education fields...

Idea:
Currently, you need to have elevated access of Manager in order to create folders in Quickr. This is too high access for a simple task of creating a folder, especially using the Quickr Explorer Connector.
We should have a setting per place to enable selectable lower access levels to create folders. Editors for sure and possibly authors too.

Idea:
Rather than have a million "ideas" that are really minor bug reports, etc., I thought I'd create a catchall "idea" and let everyone throw their feedback in as comments. So I'll start:

-Home page - no "new registration" link. Given the different registration types (job seeker or employer), maybe a "register as jobseeker" and "register as employer" pair of links would work.

Registration page.
- the labels and fields are hard to line up...need to maybe use alternating row colors or increase vertical separation - Check password validation logic/instructions. it didn't like "9vExoDF3(df4" even though it satisfies the requirements for a capital letter, a number, and a special character.

- Required "address" fields should probably be city and country, with others optional unless there is a need for mailing address. Some might want to put the major city nearby like "Washington DC" as their location, as opposed to "Podunk, MD" which might mean little to someone searching. Maybe even have a special field for "Metro area". Of course, "registration" may be different from "profile" and I just don't know it yet...
- While we're on the topic of location, some way to indicate an openness to relocation, such as the ability to select "other locations I'd like to be considered for" might be worth considering.
Login fields - Not Firefox friendly - FF not offering to remember.

Idea:
Extend Registration into proper "Candidate Profile", ideally without requiring filling out all the extensive data bits already captured in folks' LinkedIn and other similar profiles. Some sort of tie-in to LinkedIn/Xing/Plaxo could be either  a simple link with the pretty logo or if some sort of api exists that can surface or import specific profile info like education, all the better.

Idea:
Something that would allow a recruiter to easily jump to other places on the web where a jobseeker has made contributions that might impress said recruiter. In addition to obvious ones like a blog, we have others like PlanetLotus and BleedYellow profiles, and it's even possible to create urls to highlight all posts made, say, to the Notes 6/7 forum. E.g. here's mine: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/ShowMyTopicsAllFlatweb?OpenView&RestrictToCategory=Kevin+Pettitt

As you can see from that url, it's fairly easy to just plug in a different name value, so it should be easy to code the profile form to simply ask a jobseeker "what's your LDD username" and then have them check boxes for each forum they want to link to, e.g. 4/5, 6/7, 8, Quickr, DomDoc, etc.

Any other places I've missed? Maybe reference websites, but those could be listed in a larger "description/summary" field.

Being an inquisitve type I decided to have a look under the hood - from my browser. Supprise supprise it seems the site has no real security. Please visit the site and remove your personal details - just over type your details with rubbish. The site security is so poor - I could edit your profiles myself, however I just don't have the time. I've emailed the site and I've emailed all the profile owners. Good luck. Ian ps. Tags: view filtering filter
Idea:
Suppose you have a view that shows all the bids and this view is sorted by the bid date. Now suppose that you want to view only bids from a given date (e.g. 01/01/2008) to another given date (e.g. 12/01/2008). In this case the view object should expose a new method like "FilterView". And you can simply pass these two dates in this method. Then internally talking is pretty straighforward to implement it: It's just a matter of locating the first date by calling the NIFFindByKey API and then locating the last date by calling the same NIFFindByKey API. And here you will have the "initial" and "last" COLLECTIONPOSITIONs that will indicate the bounds of the view. The only requirement is that the view should be sorted by bid date.
This is similar to the show-single category feature but more flexible.
Suppose you have a view showing names... and the first sorted column is the surname. And you want to see all documents where the surname starts with S or T or U. In this case you can apply the same exact logic.
So with this proposal the LotusScript and Formula developers will easily filter the view dinamically without causing extra costs (like creating views with different formulas).
