Good news for all of us: leaders are not born, they are made. Many people know Fyodor Ovchinnikov, an entrepreneur from Syktyvkar, who is well-known for his blog The Power of Mind. Now he expands his Dodo Pizza chain. His path was not easy, but he has never given up, and this is what he told me in a personal conversation. Fyodor engaged in book business. When he met with difficulties, he read the biography of Sam Walton — it gave him strength. Learning about the situations, which people had overcome, about how they had achieved something, he gained a newperspective in analyzing issues. When Fyodor closed his business, left with no money, his mood was overshadowed by the fact that four years of life and a lot of energy had been wasted on an unsuccessful business. He needed to make a decision and choose a way to move forward. His parents and people around him advised to stop «doing those useless things» and get a normal job. At such moments the biography of Ray Kroc came to his mind. This was a man, who had no luck in doing business until his 52 — he constantly failed. When he was 52, Ray Kroc implemented the idea to create the great company McDonalds and it turned his life. Of course, this story was exactly what he needed at the moment, when it was important not to give up and continue to search for his own path. After he left the book industry, Fyodor needed an idea that would motivate him in the long run. He eventually came to the conclusion that it was necessary to develop a business that could potentially grow to enormous proportions. Then he began to determine his own interests and realized that he did not want to negotiate with each customer, but to create a system. It was a pleasure for him to refine business processes, to build a business machine, where everything was optimized. Next, he needed to choose a market, it had to be in a growth stage, stable and marginal. Mass catering and fine dining restaurants met these criteria. And Fyodor decided to cook pizza. According to him, this is not just selling everyday products, but broadcasting of certain values: service, speed, taste. Now, when the company is developing, Fyodor keeps checking himself: what responsibilities can be delegated to others? The entrepreneur says that he has a real struggle inside: he always wants to do everything himself, but it is clear that in such case he will not have time to deal with other things. Fyodor says that making someone else do the work is like walking on stilts. You’re uncomfortable, you may stumble but, nevertheless, you walk faster because you have longer steps. Now Fyodor is a successful entrepreneur, he is building a franchise pizza chain and he is not going to stop there. People have to perceive you as a dynamic and charismatic personality. Respect is the key to high-efficiency leadership. The more people respect you, the more they are willing to follow you. Fyodor Ovchinnikov did not give up after the failure of the first business and started to build a new one, although, he had more difficulties then many others. He told about the business and failures in his blog. Become the kind of leader that people would follow voluntarily, even if you have no title or position. From a psychological point of view every event and phenomenon are created twice, first in the mind and then in reality. Focus on the positive. Remain spiritually stable, so that nothing can move you off the track to success. Imagine what you want and firmly believe in it. Everything will happen for sure. Leaders think and talk about the solutions. Followers think and talk about the problems. Such an approach does not seem difficult but very few act this way. John F. Kennedy was a sick child and teenager and he could easily get used to complain about life and give up the struggle. However, he managed to overcome physical infirmities and became the most attractive and charismatic political leader in the history of the United States.
Start small
There is a principle of 80/20 in the world that means that there are 20% of leaders and 80% of ordinary people. Agree that you can easily be in the top twenty. Aiming to become a leader, start small. Listen to the lectures on public speaking by Dale Carnegie. Go to the library or search online for books about the art of conversation and personal improvement. Communicate with people. You’ll have fun and make circle of friends and partners around you. Cultivate that elusive quality, which we call charisma. Leaders have the following qualities:
Behavior that distinguishes a leader
Be known for the strength of your character. Integrity is the most valuable and respected quality of a leader. Always keep your word. Be creative in difficult circumstances. John Kennedy told that «the elusive half-step between middle management and true leadership is grace under pressure.» Do not be afraid of bold decisions, they are in any case better than nothing. Let everyone know you as a person who works more than others, as a person who takes a large number of tasks and perform them successfully. Become a person who always takes care of others, especially of your family members. Be friendly with everyone. A strong person do not cherish ill-will and cope with problems without taking it out on others. Do not be afraid to stand out among others improving your personal and professional qualities. Feel like a star that shines brightly and delights others. Robin Sharma believes that it is necessary to do the two most difficult things for you on a daily basis. Let it be something small, just do this work! Over time, these obligations will no longer be overly burdensome. The strength of your character will become stronger and your productivity will increase. By the way, this technique will help to build character.
Three Pillars of Leadership
The three pillars of leadership are the ability to reflect, care and kind attitude to people. In order to achieve real success, we have to understand that worldly wisdom and insight are the most important features that we need to cultivate. Become an expert on individual psychology and learn to identify the human essence. Do not allow yourself to be used and be fully aware of what is happening around you. Do not stoop to gossip and intra-office squabbles but you should understand that they do exist, and try to be aware of what is going on behind your back. True leaders behave this way. A leader is a person who leads people. But leadership begins with the ability to control yourself, your thoughts and emotions. As you know, your whole life depends on this. Before commanding others and leading them you must command yourself. This is the first and most important step in leadership. Could Fyodor Ovchinnikov build a successful business another way?.. A leader is not a manipulator, a leader is a motivator whose actions are aimed at creating and maintaining the well-being of others. Of course, everyone thinks primarily of themselves… If anyone says otherwise, you should know that the person is cheating. Perhaps they do this unintentionally and unknowingly, sincerely believing that they care about other people. A leader can consider other people, he is able to take care of himself and he gives a remaining energy and strength to others. It seems the situation with money: when you earn enough to live comfortably you are able to give your savings to benefit people. But when you do not have enough money for yourself you cannot think about others. Free energy means creative energy, which people use for creativity. Most of us have power only to maintain the current level of life, many of us do not have enough power even for this and then they lower the bar. Only few have enough energy to create the next level after the strengthening of the previous one. Free energy is like free money that you can use after all bills are paid. By the way, the amounts of energy and money are directly proportional to each other. A leader is primarily a person who perfectly controls his own life. He has plenty of free energy and it is booming. Due to his strong and stable energy he is able to lead people. Leaders are very self-confident. It serves as the core of their position in life and forms relations with the world and other people. Self-confidence enables them to accept themselves as they are. It creates a protective layer between them and people around, which allows moving more purposefully. A person is able to effectively manage his/her life only in the quiescent state. When you suffer negative emotions poison your mind, and as a result, you take wrong, rash and hasty decisions. A person who is confident in his/her future is impossible to be shaken. This peace of mind allows thinking clearly and taking right steps. Remember the proverb: «The dogs bark and the caravan goes by.» The same is about leaders: people are trying to denigrate and offend them, but leaders feel a power and just smile back. People, who achieve leadership by tricks and traps, usually lack self-confidence. They want to show that they are important in this world. That is why they strive to subdue and control people in order to raise self-confidence. They do this just for personal ego gratification. True leaders are chosen by other people. They do not strive to get leadership just for its own sake. People around a true leader feel a strong personality who is able to take care of them and unite around him/her. Most people do not have enough free energy to do great things and when they see a person who has it in abundance they try to approach him/her and to get at least a piece of it. Leaders spare no energy because the more they give, the more they get and the stronger they become. This is a spontaneous process. Leaders know who they really are and their self-confidence cannot be shaken. Remember that the first stage of leadership is self-management. If a person copes with this other people are not able to change anything.
Working with a team
Since the role of a leader is the effective management and coordination it is very important to be able to find a common language with people. Leaders have to be real team players. They have to lead a game and be in the center instead of hiding behind others and telling what to do. An important quality of a leader is modesty. He must take full responsibility for mistakes and solve problems when they arise. A leader should publicly praise others for success and make it the way that a good result is the merit of the team. Do not be afraid to ask for help. This is the feature of courageous people with a strong character. Be willing to share what you can with others. This is the evidence of responsibility, sympathy and strength of the human spirit. Great things are never done alone. The philosopher and psychologist Napoleon Hill wrote that if you let other people’s thoughts join yours then your mind would generate ideas, which you had never had before. You should meet mistakes with courage and try to avoid them in future. True leaders are able to recognize mistakes and turn them into a blessed gift, making a lot of conclusions from the situation. In this case, failures play a positive role. The way you deal with difficulties is a key factor in leadership. The first and most important condition of dealing with mistakes is a positive reaction. Take them and remember that leaders are the same people, they have a right to make mistakes.
Environment of leadership formation
Development of leadership qualities requires an appropriate environment. Find a mentor! Our educational system does not prepare us for the real world. Do not think that you will have all necessary knowledge after high school graduation. This is hardly possible. You must continue studying. The most successful people visit seminars and clubs, read books, join interest groups, search for mentors, even hire highly paid business coaches to get the greatest likelihood of success. Look for a mentor who has already achieved what you want. Look for a mentor who you want to follow and who will accompany you on your life path. Leadership is a matter of choice. Leaders are people who are able to take care not only of themselves. Effective leaders achieve their goals by helping people to realize their dreams. They operate on the principle: «You will get everything you wish in life if you help others to get what they want.» This is the philosophy of a leader. Your environment determines the level of success. You can realize your greatest dream only with the other people’s help.
Universal leadership skills
The skills that are inherent to leaders such as the ability to make decisions and to plan, to coordinate, to work hard, and qualities such as responsibility, foresight and other, can be applied in your own life. You can be a leader without controlling others. For example, you can become a leader and create an excellent business in the Internet, and you do not need anyone (if you are ready to figure everything out yourself). In this case, you need to manage only yourself. Leadership is necessary in a family — it is the ability to understand children and spouse. Even if you do routine work leadership is in its performance. It can be in dedication to some activity. Stephan Leimberg recommended to learn, how to make a decision — to lead someone, to follow someone or step aside. Usually, the price of inaction is higher than the cost of making a mistake. And this is absolutely true. Not to make a decision is also a decision. Procrastination and postponement are negative time management practices. It is necessary to analyze available data to assess all possible options for action. On the basis of the executed work you can come to a certain conclusion. However, some issues are more important than others. When you are going to do something you should mark them as the primary ones. Develop the important skills that will help you to be more reasonable in decision-making. Reply promptly to all letters — either by phone or in writing. When you are offered to come or to convene a business meeting decide immediately whether to spend time on it. If not — refuse. However, sometimes it happens that hasty decisions appear to be productive. As well as the first reaction (after a short consideration of options) is the best answer. So if you have limited time and the decision will not have great affects then make it at once not to get caught up in feelings such as: «How will this turn out in the future?»
Leaders do not use the word “problem”
Leadership is not a destination, leadership is a way, persistent work, first of all over itself. Leadership is a process of improvement of yourself and your qualities. Leaders don’t use the word «problem», since it gives rise a negative image that attracts negative situations. It must be simply excluded from your dictionary. Use the word «situation» instead. By means of words it is impossible to transfer precisely that image created by imagination. Leaders think as follows. They use only positive epithets, as they know that mind perceives only images and thereforeo try to create the picture favorable for work. It is impossible to reach effectivess in a gloomy or disturbing condition. Leaders realize an essence of a problem and try to present it in a simplified way. If you reduce the size of a tiger to the cat’s size, it will not be able to scary you. Usually people exaggerate the size of a trouble scale that makes things even more complicated. Leaders do smile. Try to smile and think about something bad. You will not be able to do this. Either smile will be gone or your thoughts will move in a positive course. Leaders can seem serious, but in soul they are not. Seriousness increases the importance and size of a problem. The smile, on the contrary, relieves the tension, reduces pathos, and the problem is easier to solve. Awareness of the issue’s importance blocks the thinking ability. The experience becomes stronger if the material is more difficult. In such conditions it not easy to adequately address the tasks and solve them correctly. Leaders understand it and therefore try to reduce the importance of a problem for their employees. Leaders use volumetric images. They make big plans. Bright images can motivate much stronger than people. Instead of asking a question, how long is the way to a goal, leaders focus attention on how much was already achieved. They know and try to show people that follow them how much was already done. Leaders can see business in the long term perspective, how it will be in the future. Each businessman imagines his new business as it is already flourishing, he works for it and ready to overcome all difficulties. What he has now is only a transitional stage. Your real life occurs at your conscious, and reality is only reflection of its work. Leaders look positively at all occurring events. They see situations in a favorable light, even if they are not. Every situation bears a grain of the following victory. Our life is a sequence of our choices. By reacting positively, you transform negative circumstances into the positive. Here, for example, a history of the Sony company’s success. At first its future founder, designer Akio Morita, designed the rice cookers, but they were not successful. Rice continually burned in them and they were broken easily. It was a total failure! However, Morita did not give up. Akio started developing a transistor, and then the first tape recorder. Business went on a new and extremely perspective way. In the 70s of the last century Akio Morita became the richest person of the world.
Practice
Answer honestly a question «Why do I want to become a leader?» Try to make it as clear as possible. The more precisely you understand why you need to become a leader, the quicker you will become. By being the leader, I will:

Deep inside you feel that you must become the leader and to manage others. But remember: you need to reach a unity of your mind and heart, as wiithout it you will not achieve any serious results. The desire can be felt at the level of emotions, but the mind needs the facts. Explain to yourself, why do you wish to become a leader. Explain it logically, and your mind will support you for all 100%. Write down the answers on paper. This way you will be able to formulate reasons more precisely, than in mind. Clearness and clarity are necessary. The reason perceives figures. Be most specific, as you are in shop to buy some food. So, you have just defined why you want to become a leader. The reasons are written down. The next step is readiness to work and become a leader. It is an intention. Keep watching over the most successful leaders. What ways of influence on people do they use? How do they achieve a unity of team? How do they inspire and motivate their employees? Describe the ideal leader. Ask yourself a question: what quality do you need to be more successful? Select the two people in your environment with whom you have most serious difficultties in negotiations. Describe these people as detailes as possible: their individual traits, goals and priorities, what makes them approve/reject. Try to put yourself on their position. «Try on» them different ways of influence. In advance prepare for the meetings by thinking over various styles of influence, applicable to this opponent. Conduct at least five meetings with these people. Try to apply spirit of great leaders. Learn from them, read their biographies and books. You receive the most powerful charge of energy. Maxim Faldin (Wikimart.ru): time costs money Now Wikimart.ru is one of the most successful projects in Russia in the field of electronic commerce, and assortment of this online store contains more than 2 million goods. And it is natural that the co-founder Maxim Faldin needed to plan his time very competently in order to succeed. Information he manages this, Maxim shared in our conversation. He was born and grew up in the 1990th years in the city of Podolsk. Many people remember the gloomy atmosphere of those disturbing years: bandits, crime, just as in the movie «Brigada» (the Crew). Maxim even had friends among such people, but he did not get under their influence due to his education and intelligent family (after all, his mother and the father were physicists). Maxim loved reading since his childhood. Those days when Interenet was not yet popular, but computer games were already available, he spent his evenings in the libraries instead of playing computer games. His hobby was to change rules of different games: to amend or modify it at his own discretion. Maxim’s friend even joked that he will change the rules of soccer and hockey soon. After graduating from the economics department of MSU Maxim worked as the manager in the English insurance company, then as a finansist in «Sibur» and «the person who is responsible for everything» in the American company of direct investments and only after that he decided to begin own business. Later Maxim was enrolled to the Stanford business school, where he and his friend Kamil invented a Wikimart.ru — the website that is nowadays one of the largest online retailers of the country. Unfortunately, as Maxim says, time is always running too fast and it is not enough sometimes for some things things, so there is no wonderful answer and correct balance. However, the businessman shared his practice that proved to be efficient. The first: never to miss your sport trainings. 2–3 times a week you should do sports. Maxim prefers boxing. The second: it is better to lodge in the center of Moscow. Otherwise, leave the city at all. Maxim doesn’t believe in a talk about clean air beyond MKAD (Moscow Ring Road). When you are engaged in business and you spend 8 hours for a sleep and 4 hours on a driving on MKAD, you would not have time for anything. Maxim spends only 20 minutes on the road to work and therefore he always has energy for trainings and many other things. The third: time costs money. If someone asks you: «Give me hour», you should reply: «Give a hundred dollars». We easily render our time, but if it costs money — we will think. Once upon a time there was a little boy. He ran, jumped and enjoyed his life. His Time was happy and always followed him. It was big, fat and rosy – there was a lot of it. The boy had enough Time for everything – for playing football with friends, for watching TV. The boy did not have problems with Time and Time did not have problems with the boy. When he grew up he got comrades, colleagues and so-called affairs. Each case required a little time. The boy cut from the Time little by little: to repair a car, to go out with a girl. It followed the boy smiling – he still had Time! Friends and colleagues came to the boy with their problems and concerns. And each of their problems required his Time. The boy did not want to kill Time, but other people helped to do this. Sometimes a neighbor visited the boy in the evening just to talk, sometimes a brother in law asked to join him on trip to the city because he needed somebody to accompany him. And then there were TV, telephone, computer and everything needed his attention. Sometimes the boy looked back at Time, which he cut, which other people tore to shreds and he did not say anything: it was shameful, it was frightful or it was inconvenient. Then the hour of Time’s death came, the boy did not have it any more! One day his son came to him: — Dad, let’s go to the zoo or to the cinema! — I’m sorry, son, I have no time! His father called and asked: — How are you, why don’t you call? — I’m sorry, Dad, I have no time. Time is an invisible but irreplaceable resource. Learn how to use it and then you will start managing your life. A day is exactly 24 hours for everyone, we all are equal in this. People differ in the way they use this time. Time management allows you to balance everything. Otherwise, you will do just urgent things and this will lead to imbalance and eventually to disaster. Do not let others waste your time. You have to be ruthless to those people who steal it, learn to say «no» to secondary things. The key to successful time management is to do things on time. This is the only way you can achieve all your goals and you will have enough time for important things. Stay flexible because a taut bow may break but remember: you just need discipline to follow a schedule. Learn to manage your time. If you allocate it carefully and live according to plan it does not mean that you become dogmatic. On the contrary, the proper organization enables you to achieve significant goals while enjoying free minutes. Good schedule frees up more time for rest. You include leisure time in a weekly plan, as well as other things that may seem urgent. You do not have to sacrifice anything. Develop discipline and stop wasting time on many urgent but not important things (for example, phone calls). Focus on what really matters for your life mission. The mission implies finding time for self-development, building strong relationships, physical exercising, reading and deep reflection. Learn how to organize you work according to by the top priorities of your life. Effective time management allows you to be flexible, to do what you really want but not what you are forced to do. Remember: you can use only the time you have right now, you have only this moment. Things you are doing at the moment determine your future. If you will live every day and every hour of your life to the fullest then you will accumulate the valuable resource, which will work for you later. The Bible says: «Do not worry about tomorrow … for tomorrow will bring its own worries.» Time spent on things that do not bring a large reward except the fleeting feeling of relaxation is lost forever. You need to rest but choose the most effective kinds of it and engage in productive work, which will gradually get you closer to perfection. Happiness comes along with activity but not inactivity. Time you find for personal growth in a busy schedule will never be spent in vain. Some people believe that the morning hour they spend watching children playing in a nearby park or walking is lost. But in fact, if you pay attention to the simple joys and thereby bring balance into your life you spend the remaining hours more productively. It is impossible to do good deeds if you do not feel well. When you are calm, relaxed and full of enthusiasm the efficiency of your work is higher, you think more dynamically and creatively. It is obvious, and yet we are constantly entangled in a web of seemingly urgent cases and cannot see the forest for the trees. Learn how to manage time. There are 168 hours in a week. This is enough to achieve desired goals. Allocate your resources strictly. Principles of time management Principles of time management have been known and used by successful people throughout history; they have been used in all organizations and in all spheres of activity. These are the fundamental laws. They are undeniable and unchangeable. Devote a few minutes each morning to think about your day. Plan it according to your priorities and focus on those tasks that are important, though not urgent, because they develop you as a person and as a professional. Important, yet not urgent, things bring serious results; it can be the development of a strategy, the formation of relationships or education. There is only one way to happiness and it implies the achievement of your personal, professional or any other goals. You are more satisfied with life when you feel that you are useful and you move towards a dream. Then you will notice that you have boundless energy and vitality. Learn to say «no». Never let the most important things to be pushed into the background by those things that are less important to you. Do not let trifles distract you from the things that really matter. Always ask yourself: «Do I spend my time and energy the best way?» «How can I use them more wisely and productively now?» «Does everything I do now brings me closer to my primary goal?» Deal with primary issues and push aside everything unimportant. To be indispensable for everyone is a crazy, unrealistic and impossible goal. The skill to say «No» is not a self-restriction. This is the solid knowledge of what is needed to achieve success faster. It is worth mentioning that discipline also helps your employees to be responsible for their own results. Set deadlines and focus on meeting them. Taking control of your time management you should develop the habit of setting a framework for each case and take them into account. When you are planning your day estimate how long it will take you to do everything that you have scheduled, try to meet deadlines. Set limits for a project without extra time. According to the famous Parkinson’s Law «work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion». This means that if you give yourself two days to make a presentation you will spend exactly this amount of time, if four – it will take you four days. That is why set strict limits thinking about deadlines. It is better to fulfill an order earlier. It will create a positive image in the eyes of customers. Planning of activities is one of the secrets of successful people! Plan of activities is a map of the day, which helps to win at least 1 hour of productive time. Every minute spent on creating the plan saves 10 minutes of its implementation. This provides a huge return on mental efforts, emotional and physical energy, which you have invested. It takes 10-12 minutes to plan a work for the next day. This will save you 100-120 minutes, which provide an increase of productive time by two hours a day or that is a 25% increase of your daily productivity. It turns 2000-2400 minutes a month or 4-5 full working days! Planning of activity also helps to set priorities. A list of main areas of work will allow organizing time and achieving your goals. The process of drawing up a work plan programs our minds. When you formulate your wishes clearly they come true. This process helps us to understand what we want and what we strive for. And this makes the universe fulfill your wishes faster. Time planning methods You just need a piece of paper and a pen for a very simple plan. Each night make a list of all things that you need to do the next day in the order you are going to perform them. Some points will be repeated over and over again, day after day, until they finally disappear. In the morning start with the case № 1 and deal with it till the end. Do not move on to the case № 2 until you finish the case №1. Continue working this way with the entire list and do not move on to the next project until you finish a previous one. You can suspend this activity only in one case: if you are prevented by circumstances beyond your control. Cross out what you have made. The method is very simple and effective. It lets you see and plan your life only for 1 day ahead but it is already a great advantage because 95% of people do not live this way. For more detailed planning you will need: Diary Organizer Do not forget to plan every day. It is a priceless element of your life strategy in the way to happiness and wealth. If you do not plan your day the evening before you will lose at least 2 hours. At worst, you will waste the entire day. A person does unimportant things if he/she does not have certain priorities. At the end of the day it appears that time has been spent in vain. Planning Calendar Then start making a plan for a month. Ask yourself: «What I have to do during this period?» The rule is the same: do not start a project of next month until you finish scheduling it. Then you will learn to co-ordinate short-term tasks with your goals for 3-6 months and for a year. A planning process definitely causes tension and takes some time. But I assure you that doing this you will achieve more. All your actions will be more effective and meaningful. They will become extraordinary clear. You will need to demonstrate a high discipline. But if you do this you will become the master of your time. The act of planning makes you think carefully about your options. The more you think about them, the more quickly you reach a goal. Regular planning allows you to spend more time for the most important activities. This will increase the efficiency of your work, whatever you’re doing. The advantage of a calendar is that you can depict a holistic vision of your life writing down your goals for 5, 10, 20 years ahead. Thus, arrange your life making a detailed list of everything you have to do tomorrow, in a week, in a month, in a year and in several years. Carefully analyze the list and set clear priorities for each item before you act. Teach yourself to deal only with the most important things. Do your work well and quickly. And now, to determine the method of investment, it is necessary to analyze the situation and to answer a few questions. What does this amount of money mean to you? How much money can you save without sacrificing the quality of your everyday life? How often do you get money? For example, once a month, once a week … Are they spare? Are you ready to part with your money in case of unforeseen risks? Will you need a certain amount of money within 5-10 years? Do you have a «safety cushion» reserve, which is enough for several years of comfortable life? If you answered yes to all these questions, then you are ready to start risky but profitable types of investment. If you answered «no» choose low risky investments- bonds, deposits in different banks. Now let’s talk about how to take risks rationally. There are stock exchanges, such as Forex, for this case. But it is better to rely on professionals and to find someone who can manage money in practice. You just have to give some money and he/she will start working with it. John Lavenia is, unfortunately, not very well known in Russia, but he is famous in the West. He is a successful entrepreneur, author and creator of his own marketing «tidbits». Here is his complicated story. According to John, the way that he went through constant development can be compared with a bridge. A bridge, as we all know, connects the opposite shores. John turned from an ordinary worker to a businessman, which appeared to be quite natural for him. His first entrepreneurial experience was associated with the music business — he ran his own group. That period was memorable and interesting, but it was not useful from the financial point of view. After unsuccessful beginning the young man shifted to the sphere franchising. He engaged in loans, but a few years later he lost interest in this sphere: it seemed time and energy consuming to him. John thought that he applied the necessary principles of business, but success did not come to him for a long time. Not for nothing is the modern society called the consumer society. Jim Rohn wrote: “To become financially independent you must turn part of your income into capital; turn capital into enterprise; turn enterprise into profit; turn profit into investment; and turn investment into financial independence.” Brian Tracy, in his turn, pointed out that a great success, including business, is preceded by a lot of difficulties and lessons. It is hard not to face obstacles while climbing to the top. After overcoming another difficulty ask yourself the following questions. What did I do right? What would I have done differently? Analyze the situation to find a solution, ask yourself: What can I change to cope with the situation? What to do in the economic chaos? What to do when things go wrong? What to do in case of a bankruptcy when things go bad? Be aware that no matter what, you can do amazing things. Sometimes people are able to do great things in spite of the most terrible circumstances. Why is this so? Because people are amazing and unique creations. Only they, bumping into weeds, can not just tear them up by the roots, but also to turn brush into a beautiful garden. Almost everyone can do something from nothing. A human being is able to move from poverty to prosperity, to turn a penny in fortune and to convert misfortune into success. Why people are able to do this? The reason is a human uniqueness. Take a look inside yourself and you will find that nature has given you amazing abilities that can be developed and used for a benefit. These abilities are your most valuable assets. Thanks to them, you can change everything you want. For example, to transform your life, if you do not like it, to get everything you lack. It is not necessarily to always stay in one place. You can transform a situation, your house, whatever. The most remarkable quality that you have is the ability to do everything that is necessary to achieve a desired result, to turn bad luck into success. Such unpleasant phenomena as ungrounded criticism, lack of self confidence, feeling of rejection, disputes, stress, jealousy, offence, pain, suffering can lead to failure. We should not let them dominate our lives. If somebody’s insulting words, anger and criticism are unpleasant to you, do not give in. Make a bad seed dry out to give life to something new and bright. Every failure can be a seed, from which you’ll grow future success every day. Through the pain and difficulties you will reach the top.

Here is the story of the famous Hollywood actor, told in the book of V. Dovgan.
“Sylvester Stallone dreamed of becoming an actor. He went to castings, took part in crowd scenes, but nobody took him. A couple of times he acted in crowd scenes, where he got punched in the face in the background. This is all that he has achieved over several years visiting studios and haunting directors and film producers. At the age of twenty-five he was still unknown. He even did not have the acting experience! The probability that Stallone was invited to play a leading role was not just equal to zero, it was negative. He annoyed everyone by his dream to act in movies. He ran out of money. His wife told him many times: «Listen, set to work. Stop wasting time! Stop deluding yourself! We have no money.» They had to sell all worthwhile things they had. Soon his wife slammed the door and left this «crazy guy». Stallone left with the dog and empty apartment with no heat and electricity. He turned into a beggar, he was terribly poor –he had no money even for food. All friends and relatives told him: «What are you doing? Stop! You have no chance!» When it was too cold to stay at home, he went to warm himself to the public library, flipping through magazines and reading books there. Then the idea flashed upon him and he said to himself: «I will write a script and it will help me to achieve a leading role. My dream of becoming an actor will come true!» He began writing one script after another, but nobody took them, failure followed by failure. When it was really bad and nothing to eat, Stallone had to say goodbye to the only friend — his dog. When he sold it, he told to the buyer: «I will find you for sure. I do not sell any friends, I do not sell my dog - I just have nothing to feed it. When I have money, I will find you, and redeem the dog. » However, there were no means and no chances. Full deadlock, loneliness and poverty. Then one day, when he watched the fight of Muhammad Ali on TV, an idea stuck him! He felt an inspiration, a tremor in his body, he was very excited.Stallone took a pen and paper and wrote the movie script for «Rocky.» Inspired by his work, he stated endlessly haunting producers and directors again. But no one wanted to take his script. They refused to even pay attention to it. This went on for several weeks, until two young producers reviewed the script. They told him: «Well done, man. This is a good script. Here is 15 thousand dollars. We buy it, and be happy!» And they got the unexpected answer: «No! I am not going to give you the script for nothing! I have to play the lead role myself.» They were amazed at his audacity and sent Sylvester Stallone on his way. But after a while, they called him again and offered 100 thousand dollars. He refused again. Then the producers told him: «Look at yourself. You are small and unattractive-looking, you have no talent, and you are an amateur. What the hell the leading role you want to play. Take money! We will hire a good actor and earn even more, and give you a percentage of the box office.» Being in great distress, in the most dreadful poverty, Sylvester Stallone replied: «No! I disagree. I have to play the leading role!» After a while, they had a conversation again: «250 thousand dollars and a very good, profitable percentage of the box office — and all your problems will evaporate. Why do you need the leading role? Why do you miss, perhaps, your only chance in life?» «No! — Stallone said. — I will sign the documents only if I play the leading role.» Since the producers really liked the script, they agreed. But, of course, they gave Sylvester only 15 thousand dollars and a percentage of the box office. When he got the first money, he was happy and rushed to search for the dog. When he found the buyer, Stallone asked him to sell his friend back. But the cunning man heard about the success of the future star and replied: «No. I am not selling.» He agreed to sell the dog back for 15 thousand dollars (the whole fee Stallone has got), although, he bought it just for 50 dollars. Today Sylvester Stallone is a cult actor. His scripts, movies and his roles have become classics of world cinema.
