Second comment. I still think that "talent is not scalable" and software development of non-trivial applications is mainly craftmanship. I think that one can find really good programmers, talents, in every country in which there are reasonable conditions for such talent to grow (so there are good schools, access to computers, to Internet, ...). That's very difficult to do, mainly because of disagreements about what "reasonable results" are. Most games that can do supers are oriented towards comic-style results. For a comic-book genre, that's reasonable, but it conflicts with having the system be close to the real world by default. ... ( дальше )

Yes, I saw the news and it does look really bad down there. But I mainly meant that it sounded like you personally didn't get hammered, or if you did, you're handling it really well. Not that I don't feel bad for everyone else down there, it's just a little more concern goes out to like minded people I actually talk to.
