You were learning how to cook and finally after the 7th trial you baked a good apply pie! And with a certain sense of satisfaction you said:

1. When your nose freezes and you touch it, it reminds you a cucumber just taken out of the fridge.
(Когда у Вас замерзает нос, то, дотрагиваясь до него, у Вас возникает то же чувство, что и от прикосновения к огурцу из холодильника...)

2. What we are talking here about is not a temperature. The situation makes you be cool, take it easy and not to react.
(Речь идет вовсе не о температуре. Ситуация диктует Вам "прохладно" (иначе говоря, трезво) реагировать на происходящее)

A younger brother wants to frighten his sister who is sitting comfortably in an arm-chair and reading a book. He's approaching her on tip-toe from behind and shouts in her very ear: "Aaaaaaaaa!!!!!" She did not even move! The brother is stunned:
